What is this worth? PG Ti 15Farad Cap ( Very big also ) Called a POWERCORE ?

looks to be in great condition, I won something on Ebay last night and need the $$

They go for about $200 a little less here a little more ebay

You need to check it to see if its leaking some nib as leaking so worth nothing

Take it apart and see what it looks like inside as they were known to leak and cause problems after time.

I will if someone is interested in buying it, as I dont want to break the seal yet. , powers up and works great so far.

If you sold it here anyone buying it would almost certainly require a pic of the inside.

I understand one of these was more prone to failure than the other? Idk if it is the Powercore or Powergrid? Similar unit, different amount of capacitance.

I have a friend that has 4 of these Powercores in his OS setup, he runs all PG amps. and 10 12" subs... badass ride.. He just told he has never had a issue with any of his...

The powercore20 was the fire hazard as well as the Tantrum powergrid. The powercore15's internals were made by Alumapro and is much more robust than the other 2 models (the PC15's cap casing can crack due to vibration over time).
On the powercore15 though ...learned a little trick ...if you put a piece of rubber underneath the copper bar going to the positive terminal it'll reduce the chance of it contacting the chassis ...as that would suck.

What's ur price shipped to 97123? Interested as it's the last piece I need for a project.

Matt replaced about 15 cores tom pedi ect as oem news nib failed so yes the 20f was wose but the 15 now with age does the same best of luck you can wait for a fire in a car on or off.

age has nothing to do with the failures, pg used shitty copper for the bus bars, and they made a severe design flaw, in order to make the package pretty, and in all one chassis- the way that alumapro does their own caps doesnt allow for the oxidation or the flex issue with the fragile tabs- once you make some new buss bars and keep 1200 amp dead short from occurring, its just fine...Have 4 of these myself in my install and I dont lose a minute of sleep over it----the powergrid really is a scary way to do high farad capacitance- lots of things that could go wrong with it-

Maybe you can blame the buss bar but most were the caps leaking out of the black packaging from almapro so not sure what to say failing is failing imo. If its fucked its fucked I don't think you can buy replacement units anymore also best of luck but I want customer know without pic they can buy a fire problem in there car
If its clean not leaking worth the cash.np bit.im going to say 60% chance it done
