I'm wondering :
A) if it would harm the amp if I used an 8ohm load front left and right channels
And 2ohm bridged rear channels.
Reason is I'm just thinking of using a set of cerwin vega home speakers and a 12"dd sub on my test bench that I have extra kicking around.
Or I could use a pair of ti10d4 to get a 4ohm load.
Not sure what's best on this little amp.
Am pretty sure a 2ohm bridged load will kill it. 4ohm will be minimum when bridged.
Looking at the spec sheet it states it can handle a 1-ohm stereo load and 2-ohm mono/bridge load. I personally wouldn't try it, but it should be able to handle it. Just don't expect any extra power.
Ok. So been playing with this amp for a bit today. Puts out pretty good for a little amp. Would be pretty loud in a car I think. Rockin the shop pretty good.
But........ I discovered an issue with the rear frequency knob/pot.
When I try to adjust the sub goes into convulsions, lol. Does this mean it needs to be replaced? And if yes. Is it hard to replace?

I'd give a shot at hitting it with deoxit gold first, won't hurt. If it really needs replaced it should be 3 joints to desolder/solder I'm guessing. The one time I took my 2 channel Tantrum apart I remember swearing a lot though.

I repaired a 200.2 tantrum and it was pretty easy and simple to disassemble and re assemble. So don't think you'll have a hard removing the pot if it is an issue, mouser has them in stock in case the deoxit doesn't work....fingers crossed.
