How good is the ti600.4?

Post by vwdude »

I see it on eBay right now. I thought it was a current amp but it's not listed on the pg website and it looks different than the current lineup. I only know OS amps, but I hear so much good about newer PG, is this ti series part of that or is it from a crappy era?

Also, is $315 a good price for it? It includes the box, manual, cloth bag...looks to be in good shape.

Thanks. So it's not worth using in place of a zpa0.5...

The only thing I would replace ZPA amps with are Elites.
Being loud without good sound quality is pointless, but having good sound quality without being loud is also pointless.

Oh yea, new caps, fets, gate resistors, and PWM chip. Its working well, just looking at what else I can check out.

Yea I was thinking elite, but it's out of my current budget.

Nothing wrong with the Ti600.4 (or 800.4). They are class AB, have very nice build quality and sound nice and clean. The knock on them is that they are large (class AB), but you'd have to decide if that is a problem for your specific installation.
I think $315 is steep for a used Ti600.4 You should be able to get it cheaper than that for sure.

To be more specific, I have many different amps on my test bench currently, including the Ti800.4 and Elite.4 and quite a few others. Let's just say that they Ti amps hold their own very well.

Mine will be available to you after my amp tests are complete on Feb 8th. And at a very nice price too.
