Looks like an MS2125 to me, but I am not 100% on that. Do you know what voltage the big blue caps are?

I would say 2125 on the left..

Is it possible to verify this on serial number?

@Eric and Corty75. the seller just replied and he doesn't know the rating of the caps and the serial number since it was peeled off from the board, but he told me he got the cover somewhere in his garage. He also replied about the price. Since it is only USD200, i think it doesn't matter whether it's MS2125 or MPS2500.

Thanks for the help for both of you

@200.00 it sure doesn't matter. Get me one, lol, if you don't bite please pm me his info and I'll buy one for sure.

I just find it hard to believe he cannot see a voltage rating on the blue caps. IT CLEARLY HAS IT, if they are 35v then its a MPS2500 and if its higher voltage such as 50v or more than its clearly a MS2125.

Hahaha, it's not that he can't see, he doesn't know squat about electronics. I live in Indonesia, apparently, the seller told me he just bought a used car with the amp installed, delivered to his house, took it out, snapped some pics, posted it for sale, went to another island for work. When i asked the serial number and the caps' rating, he had to call his wife to have a look at the amp. I guess the wife got pissed about it, and told him to tell me if i want then buy, and if don't want to buy just back off, no need to ask so many d**n questions.

FYI trickyricky, the ongoing price for MS2125 and MPS2500 series here is around USD 175 to USD 300. As for MS250, MS275, MPS220, MPS2240 is going around USD 50 to USD 125. BUT the condition is so bad, sometimes the caps already leaking so bad. I just purchased 1 MS250 and 1 MS2240 for only USD120 for both

@Eric D, Corty75 or anybody, here is the pics of the gut, rail caps 10,000uF 40V, and serial number is 211777. But the end plate says MS2125, hope anybody could help me identify.

If the end plate says MS2125, and the board has 40V caps, I see no reason to believe it is anything other than an MS2125.

@Eric, thanks for the info. But isn't it 40V usually used on MPS2500? Sorry for the noob questions

check the value of R345/R346, if they are 620 ohm then it is certainly a ms2125.....
don't know the value of them in a mps2500 at the moment......

you'll see them in the first pic, halfway the amp, somewhere under one of the black speaker wires.....

(in original ms2250 it is 1K5ohm) the ms2250TA and mps2500 i don't know ........................;;;;

of course you can only check this when you have the amp in you're hands....diff from pics to tell......

for me it is a standard during recapping, next to the ps caps and silpads i always replace those 2 resistors

by a 5W model same value and half an inch away from the board.....

much reliable ..........................

that's why i know the value good.......

I got a MPS2500 to confirm values, the rail caps on mine are 35v 15000uf.

@zeropoint0.5, will do. Thanks, I got it somewhere 5w resistor spared from my MS2250.

@trickyricky, both of my MPS2500 were 40V 10,000uF, blue one, from sprague. That's why I am confused

I just checked one of my MPS2500 and that one have 40 volts, but you can also tell by the Serial# and Your Serial begins With 21 and that means that it is a MS2125 if it was a MPS2500 the Serial would have startet With 25

You haven't asked me yet Nils, but unfortunately the serial on both amps aren't what you want.

I have 2 friends who own 3 MPS2500 and 2 MPS2500. Let me check their serial number and get back to you. However, all the amps had been upgraded.

Great info on both amps! Now I am a little confused, I just picked up a MS-2125 that has 50v caps in it. Cant tell if these are original or not. The seller didn't know squat about this amp.

50v sounds about right for that amp. The MPS2500 originally had 35v 15000uf, my friend (who knows a shit load more than I do about PG) let me know that PG later changed to the 40v 10000uf but suggested I stick with the 15000uf capacitance. I replaced all the electrolytic caps on my MPS2500 and I used 35v 15000uf (as that was the largest rating available in that package size) not cheap but well worth it. Plexiglass is now in the making, am going with the pcb layout theme.

Not sure what I am doing with this I picked it up off craigs for 125 bucks. The caps look in good shape so I am not sure if they were changed out or not. I am going to need new plexi for it, and new powder coat (its a little scratched up) end plates are in good shape. Not sure what year it is. serial #214777

I picked up the plexiglass already, lexan 0.093 (2.46mm thick). Just need to trim it and figure out about the graphics. The plexiglass was 15 bucks but thats because its Lexan brand, the cheaper generic brand was about half the price of the lexan. I figured I use Lexan since its much better.
