does she like to listen to it loud or regular volume. If she doesn't crank it up then give her the quarts. If she liked It loud the go with the alpine.

I have not met a woman yet that is worth of any of the Ti Elite line. They do not respect it enough to be worth to listen too them imo. :) sill looking for that woman...

if you want to turn it up then you don't want quarts. I was always amazed at how great they sounded at normal levels but I was never able to adjust the eq to make them sound good at high volume. I never worked at a shop that carried them but I had 4 customers insist on quarts over our ID/ diamond audio and pg speakers. We put them in and then spend the next 2 hrs having him tell us what to adjust to make it sound good. After 2 hrs they said ETF good enough.

Elites all the way. The Alpine type x stuff isn't bad at all though. That's what I have in my daily driver right now. They sound good but lack a little in the midbass.

I would go with the QSD216 over the others. That is arguably the best set of speakers Quart ever designed, and having personally tested them in different lab environments, they do perform. IMO they are a bit bright, but nothing a slight amount of cutting on an EQ can't solve.

Although I prefer Boston over Quart, a set of QSD 3-ways is on a my list of speakers I intend to own some day.

I have the new Elites and the ID XS65's and both sounded phenomenal on the Elite.5 I just sold, but prefer the ID's as they sound tits at normal and high volumes without losing SQ or being overly bright or lacking mid bass. The older Elite's were my favorite comps before using the ID's, but the older Elites kinda put me off as the tweets are soooooo flippin' fragile and took a little longer to dial in ...especially if using the 3 way set up using the 6.5" and the 9" versus using the 5.25" with the 9".
Use your ears ...they'll tell ya what sounds best to you and that's all that should matter.

Never understood why boston was not more popular. Sound good high and low, not sure I ever heard a pair I didn't like.

Boston Pros are still one of my all time favorites. Sounded awesome, plenty midbass, tweeters weren't too harsh even at high volumes, and they were damn near indestructible. I still have a set of 6.4's.
