So when I eventually get to my install, I'll be using my Pioneer hu with the alpine 3339 eq. The eq only requires L/R inputs & then outputs rear, front & sub. Just curious if I output from head unit do I need to combine rear/front with"y"adaptors to our well the front only be sufficient?

I have a tld66 as well, although it is overkill if I'll only be running one set of rca's to the eq brain, & my hu has 6v preouts already...wondering if I should use it at the eq's outputs as I'm unsure what voltage it will push out to the 3 amplifiers. As I don't have & cannot find specs/manual for the 3339 anywhere

No. The front channels on most h/u's are full range outputs.
Even my ms8 and bit one work the same way.

Use just the front outputs. And the old post eq. The only problem I see is when you get a Bluetooth call it is going to play through all the speakers. Probably get a good echo on the other end.

If you goto the OSS Facebook group. There are a few guys there with all the old alpine manuals. I've had lots of help from the guys over there with alpine gear.

As far as the bt goes I usually get an echo or some thing anyway...music is much more important than voice calls!

Didn't find oss group on fb unless it's the"on some shit" dude...looked like bmx related posts mostly, how do I find groups?

I would see that the output on the eq is as it might not matter what the deck puts out more but what the EQ does too that will show what you amps get.
