I tore down my truck yesterday for a remodel of the whole system.
I'm stuggling a bit as to where I should mount a third amp.
Some of you know I have a 2001 gmc Sierra 2500hd pickup truck.

So I removed all the gear, took the felt liner stuff of the back wall. ( another member suggested that mounting my amps on the felt would contribute to amps possibly heating up) also I used to have amps just mounted right on the back wall, since I removed the felt, I added two layers of sound deadener, and a new backer board up to back wall for mounting amps and other components.

This is what I'm thinking of doing,
Elite.4 for left and right front channel's (active). Going to have two sets of ti6 elite comps up front.
Elite.5 for left and right rear channels (active). Going to have two sets of ti5 elite in rear doors.
I'm thinking of using an old ti10d4 for a mid bass off the sub channel of the elite.5 built into the center console. I would also run this channel through a bass cube. I'm just looking to get a solid mid-low bass to help my front stage a bit. Hard to explain but I have superb highs, crazy lows, but seem to be missing the punchy mid bass, if that makes sense.

The above setup will be utilizing the audison bit one processor.
Now my thinking is I would really like to use my to elite 9m mid bass drivers in my front doors for a nice three way setup. So I'm thinking I will use an elite.2 for the pair.
Now my problem is wtf do I put this amp and the elite.1 ?
I really like Kirghiz's setup. I just can't seem to figure how his installer did his.
Anyway just looking for some creative ideas.

its fun fitting 10lb of shit in a 5lb sack metaphorically speaking huh? I have been having this same problem with my system in planning. Added a supercharger and meth kit and suddenly I need find a spot for a 1 gallon tank. Put it in the trunk everyone says and all I can reply is that it is going to be very very full...

You know something funny, I used an ms-8 as well, and before I installed it I had great punchy Midbass, I lost it when I added he ms-8, which is why I'm deleting it in my next stereo revision.

I just want to give you that insight as it might be your punchy Midbass issue.

The rest of the install looks great. It's tough in a truck as there's no trunk to use and very little space if the amps don't fit under the seats.

Why are you going active in the rear and passive in front? Unless I misunderstood.

All channels will be active.

Yes I had the same issue with the mid bass on the ms8. Which is why I'm switching to the bit one. It has more user control over settings for each channel.

Ah, I want to know your opinion of the bit one once you've played with it. I'm going away from DSPs all together for now. If I got another DSP I'd probably try the Mosconi one. Their new one has 8 volt outputs.

Here's a creative placement idea. Cut out the back of the front seats and put an amp tub in there to install them on.

Running wires on moving seats will be many times harder than where the amps are mounted now. At least that's how I would see it.

I thing I have solution, the guys at my local welding shop said they could build me new seat mounts. So I can lift the seat 2" and out 2" from the wall. That will just give me enough room to stack my amps, so I can fit four elites total. Also I now gain about about he'd 1.25 cb ft for the enclosure.
Hopefully it will work out well .

I had to raise the back of the seats in my mustang after installing the new corbeaus. I just got a 2" thick piece of aluminum that was the same width as the seats mounting feet and drilled/tapped a hole through it and then ran the bolts up from the bottom. Now rather then remove the bolt pull out the seat I remove a nut and lift it out. Makes it a lot easier on installation since I am not trying to find a hole in black carpet but hitting the aluminum blocks I made. Not sure what your place is going to charge you to weld it but the place I go to while its local it has a website and ships.

I think the first thing is pick the amps you want
put them all in there oem boxes
go down to the dealership with the amps and get a large suv
trust me way easier...lol



just kidding coming from me I switch things faster than some can ever read...

^^^thanks for the tip there Mike. But if I get a new vehicle I'll be looking for a new home as well. Lol. My wife isn't to supportive of my audio hobby. And buying a new vehicle at this time just might push her over the edge. As we all know, this hobby isn't cheap.
Gotta pick your battles, so they say anyway.
