Just wondering do these set of speaker need any eq ing?
Also when using 150watts a side how low is a good xover point on my amp?

We're pheonix pg elite based off the supremo or elate morels?

I don't know much about morel so im asking
I will have a audio dqx so I will have 30 bands to tune it just wondering is there are know end spots etc

It's hard to say if they will need an eq. It's not just the speakers or the amps that determine that, it's those plus the install plus the vehicle that all work out one way or another. Sometimes you end up with cancellation of certain frequencies that you need to boost.

The best bet is to do the install without an eq then if it doesn't sound exactly as you want put in an eq. If you plan to compete then just put an in eq as a default, you'll always need it to get everything perfect.

I think they are based on the elate line. For 6.5 comp I'd start with the crossover at 80hz in go up or down from there while listening to them. Small tweaks to get it just right. As far as eq goes I start flat and use the rta on my phone to see where I need to adjust. Not sure if your eq has time alignment but that can help too.

I would trust my ears and my own taste/preference in sound more then I would a microphone that wasn't made for SQ. Don't over think it mike, if you like it and it sounds good go with it.

Agreed ttocs. The rat is a good way to get a flat curve to compensate for the cars acoustics. Then adjust to your ears. You will also need a cd with a pink noise track.

Im going to use a set of clarion sss601. Loved there sound In other cars just hope my suv is the same.

I think these were based on the morel elate line...
I ran elate 6's (63Hz hi-pass) and currently running elate 9's (50Hz hi-pass) but active 3 way front.. and 300wrms per side off a bridged Ti800.4..

So I finished doing my door
Matting mount etc
My amp and items are just temp. Till I put in my new deck
I have to say the clarion surprised me
Great high very solid mid and great bass. Very natural not harsh and very clean

Can't wait to make my box and add the sub
