Powercore 20 questions

I know the 20 has cap problems but I might have a line on one. I think it would look good with my 3 zx/ti amps and ti bass cube. My question is can the caps be replaced like in my reactor and all is good or do they have more problems than that. Thanks for the help.

Yes of course the caps can be replaced but I think they are like $6 each and there's a crap load of them.
Where are the rest of the 19 questions?

I was going to try to come up with 19 more but it made my head hurt. By the way vw I might be getting the rust to go away. More details to come if it works.

Dude, stay far ...far away from the PC20

...as we discussed when you picked up the TI BassCUBE ...the PC 20 is a fire waiting to happen unless you wanna invest a couple bills replacing all the caps with new ones

, juts hit up Valeks1 (Alek) whose the local PG repair guru and he can give ya all the gory details, this also goes for the Tantrum models.

I want to see if you can get rid of the rust. Lots of people would be intrigued as it's a common issue with ti amps.

What is the big issue with the power core 20? Is this a problem with all power cores or just specific ones?

you could try and maybe mount it together with a fire ext and call it safe.

Wow! That is crazy! So is this a problem with all power cores or just certain models? I always wanted to get one back in the day but now I'm not so sure. Is this pretty much the same reason it is mentioned a lot to get the old skool PG amps recapped? Sorry OP I am not trying to hijack your thread.

Yes this is why it's recommended to get them recapped.
As far as I know it's a problem with all of the Phoenix gold models. There are specific capacitors that are known to leak, but any capacitor can leak and cause a fire like this. That's why it's important to have all older electronics checked out and have the caps replaced wherever possible.

The Power Core 15 is a safer bet as the cap bank is sealed and is made by Alumapro, but it does develop cracks in the case over time since the Power Core tends to jump a little when powered up causing the copper bar connected to the cap bank undo stress. Not a huge issue as I've owned and used many of the PC15's and never had an issue. They can still be serviced as the local repair tech has the cap banks to replace if needed.
