Anyone have an extra bass cube case. I'm refinishing my zx/ti amps. I'm sandblasting them to bare steel and then going to clear coat them. I have a mint to bass cube I got from don't ant don't want to blast the mint case so in looking for an extra to blast. Here is a pic of the start.

Looks good so far. I see that's the worst of the 3 amps in terms of rust damage.

Are you going to put the model markings back on?

I might. Getting quotes. Looking at sill screening or maybe a thin vinyl sticker under the clear.

What about having a vinyl stencil made, paint on the graphics, peel off the stencil & masking, then cover with clear.

That's not a bad idea. I might try that.

Looks good, are you going to clear coat them or color? Powder coat?

Not sure yet. Soooooo many choices. I may be able to sneak it out with a powder coat order at work. If I do it will be black probably. The raw steel looks pretty tough. It has a little sparkle to it for some pop too.

All the Ti finish is, is a brushed metal that they used a satin clear over. Take some 100 grit to it and be careful to only go forward/back so that you don't end up with uneven lines and then clear over it and it will look good as new. The clear they used didn't seal or hold up all that well but if you put a good thick coat over it, it will be better then new.

Yup took care of them. The caps on all 3 of the ti amps that he got from me have new caps.

They would look great in black. Don't make me regret the trade. ;)

Don't like the steel look vw? I'm wondering if black might make them look a little to zx450ish.

I like steel but dint forget that I'm a ZPA fan, so I love the crinkled black finish. The bare metal finish would also look fantastic.

When I originally got these my intention was to have them copper plated and rename them ZX475cu and ZX600cu but I decided that I'd rather focus on the ZPA series.

Found a local plating shop that can also laser etch the logos. Toying with copper or black chrome. Ideas?

I would suggest against black chrome. Its a super sensitive coating that you have to wipe off anytime you touch it, or breath next to it.

I was told that copper would corrode, which is 1 reason I never did it. There is a powder coat that's similar looking to copper and would look phenomenal.

I personally would do a gun metal, like the PG power accessories from the late 90s.

I second this I have a whole bunch of parts that have to be repowder coated it looks sweet at first then just goes to shit and the powder coat guy is no longer in business

Ok so found out today we pay a lot price for powder coating. Was told we pay the same price if my amps are on the pallet or not so throw them in. Yay free powder coating. Looks like I get black. They go out tue. I'll post pics when I get them back.

That's going to look sharp. I'm waiting impatiently for pictures.

Are you going to silkscreen or paint the logos back on or do custom or just leave them blank?
