Ok I own 2 boston pro 12" 12.5lf sub
And I own a boston spg555 sub
Either will give me 2ohms and I have say 800watts rms
I listen to more rap than anything.
Im not a bass head but would like clean loud bass and to blend with my fronts
I have never used either just wondering if anyone has used the subs listed
I will be running them in a sealed box

I haven't played with either but I like the idea of the 555's voice coil replacement.

I have never blown a sub nor have come close so that really is not a sales pitch
Also boston disco the car audio and finding the vc is about 130.00 each now

I used to run a pair of those boston pro 12's off an ads 860mx, they did really well sealed with maybe 180 each

i will have 400 to each so they will do great I was just wondering how or vs to the spg555

Spg555 all the way!! It takes a nice small box sealed, nobody will believe you only have 1 sub back there. I ran 1 with a zx500 @ 2 ohms, it made the skin on my skull vibrate!!

Other than being loud did is sound good doing it?

I'd put it as one of the best sounding subs I've heard. I've yet to hear my elite 12s yet to compare though. It's very tight and accurate for its size.. I was impressed with it overall.

I agree. The spg555 has been used across the board for both SPL and SQ. Never heard one in person but have heard TONS of good things about them. They beat and sound very good doing it. That's what i would go with fwiw

Lol too funny, I just picked up a pair of 12.5lf's off kijiji for a good price locally. I don't know how you can't decide what to go with. The Spg555 is a far better sub just looking at it! I'll do a test tomorrow after the glue dries on the surrounds I had to fix on the 12.5s...
