No, but I had a coil split in half with only 15 min on the sub.
And pg does not repair nor sell parts for there subs. It's kind of a joke if you ask me. I have a $500 paperweight that's brand new.

After taking my dead sub apart to see how it's built, I am surprised to here your LEDs just fell out. Mine are glued in like crazy and leads ore woven into the spider. They are well built IMO. I just got a bum sub.
I'm in Canada, and because I didn't buy from a current pg dealer, pg have me the finger.
Hope you bought from a dealer, if you did they will most likely just swap you a new sub.
Good luck.

Maybe lack of glue I sent it in to try and see if they will warranty it. I bought it at a dealer luckily.

if they don't than I would never buy another pg sub that is just piss poor china made.

that's a joke the way they have been treating some people from the fourm.
If they do that here im sure its happening everywhere.
Elite subs are over priced junk imo

there are a lot of other brand that make better for less and will take care of the customers
really think about it would most of us ever buy the pg elite if it was say made by clarion jbl orion etc. the answer is no
Im glad to be getting out of car audio as this make me sick.

As far as build quality, yes that does suck. Here's the thing with manufacturing, it's never 100%. There will always be a certain percentage of early failures. The thing is, when you move manufacturing to China that failure rate increases. That should be a calculated business expense that you figure in when deciding to move production over there. As a result I'd expect them to be quick at replacing it. Let's see what happens.

Very few items are made here anymore.

Yeah I sent it to them 52 dollars shipped :/
At the time I just was blowing money walked in the audio store and asked what the most powerful sub was and only thing close was a w7 or a alpine type x. I wanted something nobody else had so I bought two of these and ran them on a kicker zx1500.1 with very low gains and zero bass boost I blew one on day 3 of having them it just became frozen solid didn't smell smoke or even show a sign it was going to die. I took to dealer and they replaced it with a new one this one then started making a clacking sound when I looked sure enough leds were banging around in there.

Damn. That's either bad luck or shoddy work. I've never been a fan of gimmicks like LEDs in the cone, nor have I been a fan of PG speakers (or subs for that matter).

Any word on if the dealer will take care of it for you?

Exactly what happened to my sub. Played for 15min then just stuck solid. After several attempts to rectify it somehow pg refused to help in any way at all. I finally decided to take the sub apart. It turned out the coil split in half.

I can sure see why company have stopped dealing with pg this is not the first I have heard to drop them.
how can you make a "im back" ready to rock north America with crappy service. jl , alpine are large company and have sure done a lot more than I see Aamp doing I see a lot of smaller company doing a lot more but they need to..
I agree with vwdude I have never like there speaker but this bs imo

Notice there is no Aamp member posting on here anymore odd..

Ha, I felt the same way.
I did a 159. I was so happy, and then I measured at the last comp a few weeks ago and and term pro put me at 147 peak.
I love my epic 160, but it's about 10db off.

I thought the specs where -/+3dBs.... But then again its not really a SPL measuring device more like a gauge for your own personal use, to see if any small changes make a difference.
