Ask "theone" he just got a new pioneer unit but it has 1/8th oct adjustments on the built it eq or something like that, it seems out of this world for newer double din dvd nav units and the prices are rediculously low

gps is an add-on for the pioneer.
I see more smaller tablet/handheld sized pc's being installed which sounds more interesting every day.

Pioneer has had built in gps since the avicz1.
Add on's were made available for dvd units without gps to lower the price point.
I have an avicz1, it is awesome because it was the first deck to have dvd, gps, mp3, and built in harddrive. A wopping 30gigs. Lol
I now use a avicz140bh.
Great deck. Loved it until i switched to iphone 5.
This unit works with iphone 4s and lower for video only.
As i use netflix in my truck all the time its annoying to carry my old phone just to do this now.
I plan to have the new 8000nex in jan.
The deck has hdmi input for iphone 5/6, full active touch screen. Its also the first pioneer deck to have a three way fully adjustable active crossover slopes selector.
Nice eq built in.
And look very fast compared to all previous models.
Since shutting down the home audio stuff I'm expecting big things in the future for pioneer mobile products.

Yes that is for the dvd decks to add gps
The 8000 has it built in same with the 6000 and 7000 unit
This is there flagship deck i love the xover you can move the slope on the high and low end just by moving your fingertips

I just put an avic-6000NEX in my new car. It's pretty nice. Nav is decent, but not as good as WAZE, so I use both. It sounds great, but I am yet to install my system, so off the factory speakers it sounds better than stock.
I wish I went with the 8000 as the 6.5" screen feels a bit small.
Don't waste the money on the parking brake bypass, as soon as the gps antenna sees you moving the video turns off. It did make install easier though.
Any other questions just ask away. I think the 6000 is just an 8000 with a smaller screen. I got it for $300 less than an 8000, that's why I chose it. If I had found an 8000 slightly used I would have gone that route.
Btw I also bought one of those OEM replacement decks for my last car. I'm still trying to unload it. I wish I had gone with my instinct and bought one of these instead. Much better.

If it's like the old avic models you can move the mute wire to a different pin and just run a grounded switch to the moved wire and the brake wire and your all good. Just bypasses the lockout. Gps still works fine.

There is a oem bypass that works fine for the deck google it i have seen 2 people do it and it works fine so i think it will not be a problem
I got the 8000 for cheap so im super happy
Complete with everything not a mark on it

Damn that's a great deal. That's just a bit more than what I spent for mine new. I'm kind of annoyed about the small buttons along the side, but when I hook up the steering wheel buttons that should fix it all.
I'll have to search for the bypass procedure. I thought that little box I got off eBay would fix it, it used to work on the older units.

the 8000 does a fair amount more than the 6000 other than screen size but both are nice units. I only went the 8000 as it was a local sale.
I would have done the 6000 if I went to the store to buy.

I did the video bypass, works great. It's nice to be able to input the address for nav while in motion.
I actually bought mine online, which was way cheaper than in store but the 8000 was much more. I was looking in eBay for a used one but even used they didn't go for as cheap as you got yours.
I couldn't find anywhere to compare the 6000 to the 8000 head to head that showed the different features were. All of the basic stuff that I want were in the 6000 so it seemed to work. I needed 6 channels of 4 volt RCA, nav, and the ability for add ons like backup camera and rear video. The nice eq is a bonus and HD radio is a bonus.

Oh nice, active 3 way is cool but I can do that with my crossovers (I've got a few that'll do that). The big selling point for me would have been the larger screen, but not for as much as it would have cost.

I just installed a
Pioneer AVH-X3700BHS in the HJ61 and installed the
Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS out of the Rav4 into the wife's new BJ71 and we love both decks. They both have bluetooth, Sirius XM, and DVD and more options that we will use.

Oh man, sorry to hear about that. Who makes that OEM replacement? Rosen, Eonon? There's a bunch, I doubt it will be anywhere near as good, but I also understand the other side of it.
