Im making a box to have two zx600ti in but i think i need some help, i have got the box and some of the floor in i think i used to thick wood under the floor so im getting something else tommorow.
My main problem is if im going to put the amplifier in a box on the floor or if im going to put a box on the wall behind the rear seats.
The floor in my car is very uneven so im struggeling to get the new floor flat, i made it with the thick but i think its a bit high now, does anyone got some tips for me its my first false floor so im struggeling here lol :idiot:

I put some pictures here, i want to see the amps but not the wires i got fans for the box and fan controller and i bought plexi glas to use for the windows.

Im using two zx600ti,audio control DQX and a TBA, the Audio controll is going under the floor and the zx and TBA is going inside the box.

Im using 4X 70mm fans on it 2 fans blowng cold air in and two fans out, its going to be closed so there is no port just plexi windows.

Id do an intake port and exhaust port, the fans will only circulate the hot air the amps put off causeing them to run less effiecient.

Remember, class a/b are 50% effecient, so they loose 50% of their power due to heat. The cooler u keep them the more effecient they are. Plus u lower the risk of frying something on the board. And believe me ti600.2's dont like confined spaces even w a fan but no intake or outtake. I ran one at 4ohms bridged in a confined space and it would go into thermal after an hr at 60% volume. But if u allow cool air to circulate around them u can run it at 2ohm bridged.

Also id mount them on spacers so they "float" the mosfets are mounted to the bottom on the amp w sinks on top so the better u circulate are the better they will run.

Thanks for the help i will mount it floating i got place, but how much place do i need between the amp an roof and floor of the box?.
The amplifiers are 2,25" and i dont want the box to be to higher the 3,9", i realy wanted to mount the amplifier at an angle inside the box but then the box will get to high i could mount the box at an angle but im not sure that it will look good.

Was thinking on something like this, the zx600 are big amplifiers as the widht is 16" with brackets and the box is 35" max i will have to put the TBA mounted in the top board of the box.
I have tried to use paint so i could explain how but my skills are limited, i dont know if putting the audio controll in under the amps are a good ide but i dont know where else to put it.
Do you think i can do it this way?, the audio controll would stop some of the air flowing but does the DQX give off heat?.

seems like it will make it really hard to make adjustments on the amp if I am reading this right.

I was thinking about having a "door" in the front of the box so i can open it, the DQX should come with the remote so i can adjust alot on that.

Well that did not work the box is just to big for what i had planned, i finished the floor but i do not have a clue what way to go i will go and look on different builds im thinking on mounting the amplifiers on the sides you see them on the pictures.
Back to drawing board

If u have "ports" the same diameters as the fans and say have a gap of 1/2" bottom and top gapage for the airflow between the amps and floor and roof u should be fine.

I forgot to upload the pictures, i think when the box get that big it will not look good even at a 1/2" it still would have to be 3,25" high and thats inside the box outside measure is 4,25".
Im thinking about the sides but its soo hard to mount something in there and i would have to put one one box each side of the rear wheel arches, its not impossible just alot more work then i have planned.

Best position for the fan intake hole would be DIRECTLY over the intake fans of the amplifier, that way it has cool fresh air to breath. Exhaust would be ideally near the side of the amps (where the hot air is blown out). Just my 2cents.

Well i have tried different options, and in my eyes the best way is to put one amp on each side in two small boxes with an opening over the fan this way i will not need a fan.
My problem with this solution is adjusting the amplifiers so i have to find a way to take down the box without removing the amplifiers, i will not use a bottom in the box so i can adjust the amplifier without taking the box apart.
Thanks for the help guys i really appreciate it

Set the amps to by and use your dqx to set everything. W the dqx u wont need to adjust any settings on the amps except the gains and the by setting. Fyi set your gains to max volts as the dqx has a built in line driver that does about 9v rms signal. Then ull use the ddc controller to adjust the dqx settings while upfront in the driver seat. You were smart in getting the dqx and ddc from mike as that unit will control and drive everything from upfront.

Yes i think it will be a good setup with the DQX hope i get it soon its been in shipping for over a month now, i got one of the ZX600TI i bought of ebay today i will change caps and clean everything i would love a guide for taking it apart and change the cooling paste on the zx but i should be able to do it i got some cheap amps to train on.

setting your gains to max and adjusting the DQX levels is not a solution for good sound.

I will adjust the amplifiers gain with everything on the DQX set to zero and then use the DQX i got a guide for adjusting amplifiers and DQX have a good guide for adjusting in the user manual.

Sorry for the mis understanding, scott i was meaning max volts or lowest setting as the dqx has volt signal

Well im still trying to make the amplifier boxes, i cut out the front board today and used the router on the sides but im thinking on
putting the amps on the front plate and dont do the box just put carpet on the board.
I only got a jig saw and i dont think the cut out in the front board will look good, its the wires that is the main reason for doing the box as i dont want them to show but i can drill holes in it and put the wires through.

I cut out the middle off the board and i think i got it okay, im not sure if im going to use plexi on them but i tested it out.

I can speak from experience on a custom built system with Zx amps under plexi that if you do not leave a couple of inches between the amps and the plexi/cover that they will go into thermal protection after about 40 mins at a moderate volume.

if you do plexi glass covering, as said ttocs, you have to do a good air sirculation, use same plexi glass made fan on top, they ussualy have lighting also ;)

I dont think i will use plexi on the amplifier boxes im thinking on using plexi on the TBA & Audio control DQX, im not even sure i will put the amps in a box i just wanted to see how it looked but i will try differen options in the car to see what looks best.
