Anyone a ZPX2 crossover expert?

Post by D2BBA »

Folks,

Apologies in advance for glaring technical errors with the following query. I've only recently returned to car audio and have forgotten what I knew

I'm looking for a fully adjustable crossover. At first I looked at the AX406a.

From my limited understanding of the PG crossovers I heard that the AX406a model used chips (r-net chips) and that you couldn’t continuously alter the crossover frequency unless you made / had the appropriate chips for the frequency that you wanted.

My Diamond Audio Hex tweeters are meant to drop pretty low and to get the best set-up for my system i have been informed that I need a crossover with full adjustability.

Is there e ZPX2 the answer to my needs?

Thanks
Chris

The chips/resistor networks are easy to find or to make. No need to purchase a different xover if you already have the 406a.

I don't think he has a 406a, I think he was looking at options and knows more about the 406a.
A few of these and a few of those.

zpx2 has balanced capability, deal for zpa amps, adjustable pots for cross over frequencies (only symmetrical though). ax406a has "asymmetrical" cross over points sub to mid so more flexible perhaps, also has LPL control.

Thanks VwDude :)

I don't have either yet, I'm just looking for the most versatile before I spend the money.

Cheers

oh, and the zpx2 has ADC too which is supposed to be some kind of delay circuit for sub to mid integration..
