M50 resistor replacement
Hey guys does anyone have a digikey part number for replacement resistors on the backside of the m50? I know they are 2watt 10ohm.

Re: M50 resistor replacement
It's a 20ohm resistor....perhaps its a different revision but that looks red to me, if its brown black black then its a 10ohm but if its red black black then its a 20ohm.

Re: M50 resistor replacement
Are you talking about these...

I was pretty sure they were Brown Black Black Gold, which is 10 ohms.

Re: M50 resistor replacement
I would recommend the TO220 package...its an overkill because those are around 25-30watts and will require to be mounted to the heat sink (which there is room you'll just have to drill and tap then mount the to220 resistors. They aren't cheap either, around 5-6 each but you won't ever have to worry about those heating up on you or heat dissaption.
Yes they are 10ohm...so perhaps yours are 20ohms because they are rev.A, so pretty sure the later versions had the 10ohm resistors.

Re: M50 resistor replacement
If you power the amp on with no speakers connected and no RCAs, then leave it on for a year sitting there, the resistors will still do this. They don't overheat from abuse, it is just a less than optimal part of the product design.
