Info about Adcom GFA 4404

The guy i bought the Orion concept amp and dsp got one of these Adcom amps he also got the pre amp/line driver but there is a problem with the amplifier.
I got it for the cost of shipping and i onder if anyone got any knowledge about them, when where they made how they sound and how many were made etc, its going to be repaired and i found the service manual for it with the blueprint.
This is the black version i know they made some white and black in limited numbers.

Should be a pretty straight forward repair especially with the schematics/service manual on hand. Mouser (am pretty sure others as well) carry the outputs and several components used on this amplifier. Good luck.


Don't forget that this amplifier has a balance input, you can use the TBAT you purchased from me to send the balance signal to the input (of course you will need to modified some cables that are S-video to XRL's and make sure the pin lay out is exactly as stated in the service manual...or you can inject the signal directly to the spots on the board by following the schematics. )

Adcom? Beefy. The 70x2 was more overbuilt than a 454 would be in a geo metro....

I will try and do that trickyricky, hope it does not require much repair and many parts like the harman kardon.
