Phoenix Gold Phorum

So i have a pair of these, no tweeters or xovers,

whats the best way of using them in my system when i start my build? i have front and rear components going in, but the xovers are only 2 way, sould i be best to replace the front xovers with some 3-ways? and add these to the 6.5" components going in the front?

there also pretty hungry looking at the specs 350w rms @ 4 ohms so will need some juice to run them

or would a active cross over be better, if anyone has any links would be very helpfull

very nice speakers and I look forward to getting them into my door to get some bass up front. But with that being said they were really made to go along with the cyclone from what I have gathered. The clone went like a madman till 50 hz, right were these were supposed to pick up and carry the bass up to around the 140-150 hz area if I remember correctly. I am going to run them with a 15 to fill in the low end. I have heard of people using these as subs but its not really what they were made to do.

make sure to actually make them an enclosure, they run much better then free air, which they can run good in. a good solid sealed enclosure will give you the most out of them. They also can do midrange quite well, as i had them running with my tweeters before i was able to fab up my kick panels for the 5 1/4s. Not optimal obviously but you would be amazed how good they sound full range LOL.

they are not rated above 150 hz from what I remember and taking them up into the mid range further would probably be at the low ends expense.
