2 RSDC 10" Sealed - Does This Sound About Right?

Post by dako »

I decided that I need a summer project...

Do these dimensions seem about right for running 2 RSDC 10" sealed? I'd like to try my hand at building a 13-ply birch enclosure, that's if I can actually find the stuff around here. I'm putting a TEIN coilover kit on my car, and it'd be nice to reduce some sub enclosure weight around the same time.

Optimal NET Volume For Each Subwoofer = .6 cu ft
Individual Subwoofer Displacement = .09 cu ft
Total Subwoofer Displacement = .18 cu ft
Wood Thickness .75”

External Enclosure Dimensions:
28.25” Wide
12” High
10” Deep

Internal Gross Volume:
1.38162 cu ft

Internal Net Volume After Subwoofer Displacement:
1.20162 cu ft

Individual Net Volume For Each Subwoofer:
.60081 cu ft

I've got a JL 1200/1v3 which should be a good fit. I used to have a pair of the 12"s years ago in a sealed enclosure, and as much as I loved them, it was just too much weight in the back of my Scion with double-baffle MDF.
