I would get a better sub amp and use the 8W6s for sure.

my last stereo ran 4 8's and it was fun but often left me wanting more bottom end and I am now planning on doing a 15 in the next stereo.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

really eric I would think 500 plus watts rms should be fine for either set up? the amp is tested at 143.8watt per channel so bridged I will see 500plus

Think 15 inch sub, old JBL GTI suits well for playing music, fantastic sub, but one problem, need a big ported box. 8 inch sub cant play well bottom.
Sounds like music...

I agree about the 8s lacking low end. I had 3 8w6s in ported box in a Toyota xtra cab power by a mtx 2300 they hit but not like a 15. Might be a little different in your car.
