pg sd1300.5

Post by kg1961 »

I just installed this jem
Its does more than rated
I came from a dls a3 so i find the sound very very flat
Loud yes just no depth in it
Im happy to use it so it the trade off i guess
All and all a great amp
Love the bass knob

Recently acquired a pair of these for an upcoming install, and will be adding an SD500.4 to go along with them. Seem like decent amplifiers. Get a bad rap though, which makes me nervous. But the tests I've done so far, they work well, and do put out some power.

I've used one since 2012 and haven't had any issues.

Is there a difference between the SD and RSD lines?

Ok.. I was kind a getting that the rsd was a radial version of the SD.. I think.

I was only asking because I scored an rsd500.4. Debating in keeping or flipping.

SD came after Rsd. SD is full range class D, while the Rsd multi-channels are class A/B triple Darlington and the monoblocks are low pass class D.

It depends on what you think is "better". Both have advantages and disadvantages. My SD1300.5 puts out more power than my Roadster 66 (Rsd 500.4 and Rsd 600.1 in single chassis) and it is a fraction of the size and requires less demand from my electrical system.

Yeah, you had mentioned that in the past. But the price I paid for the RSD... it's in great shape too. I thought I had sifted through enough on the SDs and RSDs.. but yesterday, after coming across this thread, and asking about the RSD, I learned a bit more. Making me want to keep it really.
