So, there was a recent dyno amp test and well, I am disappointed with the Ms-2125 tests (especially at 2 ohms mono), while the MS-2250 is insane (especially at 2 ohms mono)!
I competed way back in 97 and I had (4) MS-2125 and I did well, (thinking my amps were making power at 2 ohms mono, nope) but, if I had my amps modified... holy crap! I wish I knew this back then... My SPL would have been insane!

I do see some mods with the tested MS-2125 concerning the FETS. They should be IRFP 045. The MS-2250 should only have the IRFP 054 (along with the MAC 500). Also, the MS-2250 tested should have the green toriods not red ones... But, The MS-2125 did not double in power at 2 ohms mono, while the tested MS-2250 did... I wonder if something limits the output on the board for the amps (stock) and the tested MS-2250 has been changed also?

Seriously, what's stopping us from modifying any MS-2125 to make them put out 2400 watts 2 ohms mono!!!

Transformers for one, then there are several small components that have different values such as resistors and diodes. I think Eric may be the only one here that has actually taken the time to convert one.

And don't forget big d has that huge power supply. You really have to feed a 2250 to get it to do that.

When looking at Big D's dyno vids you must keep an eye open for the test frequency. 40Hz vs. 1kHz makes a big difference. MS-2125 got dynoed at 40Hz mostly but MS2250 at 1kHz a lot of the time.

The MS-2125 made more than half of MS-2250's power in every comparable test. You just have to compare power figures at different ohm loads. MS-2125 can do 2ohm bridged but MS-2250 can't. Keeping this in mind the MS-2125 did just fine.

Here's how I see the comparison:

Bridged RMS power at 40Hz: MS2125 639W@2ohm vs. MS2250 1141W@4ohm

Bridged dynamic power at 40Hz: MS2125 790W@2ohm vs. MS2250 1401W@4ohm

Bridged dynamic power at 1kHz: MS2125 935W@2ohm vs. MS2250 1409W@4ohm

Then there's the dynamic power figures at 1kHz and at loads the amps can't handle in reality.
MS2125 1195W@1,33ohm bridged vs. MS2250 1967W@2,67ohm bridged.
I would at least be very very careful using these loads.
