Just curious if anyone has a parts list and it's locations for an MS 2250. I know it's a lot of work and money, but, I would love to convert my MS 2125 to a Ms 2250. I know about the different toroid... I would also like to see how different my Mac 500 is from a MS 2250...
Just curious. Thanks!
Does anyone have a parts list and location for MS 2250?

Eric d did this and said I will cost a lot more than just buying a ms2250 it not just part mods to the board ect. from what I can remember
most of my gear is gone :liar:

There's actually part of the circuit missing on the 2125 board. I did a comparison once and many of the parts are the same. The transformers and some resistors are upsized, and beyond that it's just that missing circuit. You can just add the components, on the 2125 that area is completely blank. Not sure what will happen if you just upgrade the transformers and resistors.
A few of these and a few of those.

I can tell you what will happen if you just upgrade transformer and resistors.....a big explosion. Due to the fact the the rail caps breakdown voltage will exceed.vwdude wrote:There's actually part of the circuit missing on the 2125 board. I believe from my observations, the MS 2125 can be made into a MAC 500 quite easily. Same size toroid iron core too. Just a few more windings than the MS 2125 and MPS 2500.
I wish I had a picture of a MS 2250 to do a side by side comparison with my MAC 500.
As for the added circuit mentioned above, I think the difference is just in a board revision, not because there is an actual new circuit added...

That's entirely,p possible as the 2125 came out several years before the 2250, they might have moved some stuff around.Virtue wrote:I believe from my observations, the MS 2125 can be made into a MAC 500 quite easily. Trickyricky, I'd expect the rail voltage to change. I guess I forgot to mention that you might want to look into new rail caps. Lol

Re: Does anyone have a parts list and location for MS 2250?
I converted an MS2250TA into a "normal", or "original" MS2250. Doing so took rewinding the transformers, and changing about 30 pieces.
I investigated going from a MS2125 to MS2250 at that time, and there are about 100 parts that need to be changed. It is really beyond being cost effective IMO.
To my knowledge, there is no missing circuit on the MS2125, compared to the MS2250. The difference could have been between board revisions. Some of the older revision boards are quite a bit different than the newer ones.
I have an MS2250TA right now than I plan to change over to the original style MS2250. This time when I do it, I will document each change, so others can do it themselves.

Hands down the forum's most ignorant member...
Don't even know what Ohm's law is...

100% agree with Eric, possible to convert a TA into an OG but converting a 2125 to a 2250 is nearly impossible (too many components to swap, not cost effective at all best to just purchase an OG 2250).
