I think alpine made some stuff with toslink at one point. The older clarion stuff that used their proprietary optical connectors is still spdiff data and I have converted some of their old processors to toslink connectors. They did have a 1 din DVD player with digital output, but I do not know if there was ever a monitor HU by clarion...

alpine has a few but I thought he was asking if we had any for sale, not specific models? If you just want models, whats your budget?

Seems like the head unit manufacturers have up on digital outputs. Not enough interest?
Not a big Alpine guy, but I looked.. Thanks.

I found this unit. but, although the diagram looks like a toslink it doesn't specify. I guess i need to call them directly.

it does have digital out....digital out is making a slow come back now as there is a large movement for HU w digital out due to all the dsp's accepting it.

alpine also had a changer with optical out and AI-net controlled so you could always add that to any double din

Yah, I saw it had optical out just Not sure of the termination. The bitone I want to interface it with had a toslink termination. They don't specify, probably cause they want you to buy there whole system.

Historically the Clarion digital interface was not toslink. I cannot recall for certain what they called it, but it was proprietary. I have several DVC-920's and a DVS9755z and they all use the proprietary clarion optical connector. It is fairly easy to convert the older stuff to toslink, I may even have a thread on here somewhere about one of my processors. I wouldn't be surprised if there are connector adapters or conversion cables now... Another option is if it is still spdiff output and a proprietary connector, you can make a custom cable with their connector on one end and toslink on the other. I found some people trying that when I was working on my processors.

*Edit* The installation manual for that HU definitely shows a Toslink connector although they do not specifically name it.
**Edit** I just read a thread on DIYmobile, they are saying it is toslink as well. Very nice looking HU, I wish my BMW infotainment system were not such a vital piece of the car. I would love something like this...

Good Luck,
Jason
