Genesis Dual Mono/DLS Ultimate vs PG dualmonos or anything

did we have any dual mono amps in PG's lineup so far ....
i read somewhere here that MS is a dual mono , is this correct?

also has anyone compared any PG's dual mono or any amps to Genesis Series 3 amps or DLS Ultimate ...
how does PG sound compared to these gears guys?

a local forumer whose an SQ competitor has a car wtih an M50 powering focal comps.

though he actually adored the M50 and had came up in the top 3 in a few competitions with this setup, he still prefered his another car with the same drivers but with a genesis .... his newer setup

this is what he quoted in our local forum ,

" yea i still prefer the DLS ultimate and genesis series III, good power but
not as raw as the M series and bit more high end details and extension, and slightly warmer also " :)

its his opinion and founding and i respect that a lot, but i just wanna know if anyone else here have compared them or with other PG products say with the MS or so ??

I'm not looking for the PG is better or Genesis is better answer here, i just wanna know how u guys compare them to each other so it would be a little helpful for me to decide what my next fronts amp gonna be...

though i'm still a little biased towards PG...ok thats a lie...completely :D

do contribute guys.....

the m50 is ok for a budget amp but not in the same league as an ms2125 (dual mono design), the ms275's are not dual mono design and neither are any of the m series.

i would put the ms2125 in the same league as dls ultimate and genesis III any day 8)

this is encouraging and out goes genesis/dls from the plan.

zero point looks like a dual mono from the pics, i mean the internal build, looks similiar to MS2125 from the net pics..are they ?

any are there any other dual monos from PG ???

yes the zpa's are dual mono as well.

neither PG amps are actually truly dual mono as there is one cap or something like that connecting both sides together. THis was told to me a while back by a PG engineer.

they have dual power supplies
one for each channel

so its dual-mono but not purely a mono design ie 100% separation between L/R ???

i belive that yes they are dual mono power supplies intergrated on one board.

i know the ms2125,2250, 2500, all have dual pulse width modulated pwer supplies.. look at the board layout..

shit if the genisis is only slightly warmer and not as raw as the m50

then why pay all that money for it.......

marc based on my limited knowledge , the layout does look very dual mono to me especially lookin at the the PS/rail caps thats completely individual to each channel ... :)

my home stereo amp or the car stereo amps does not have these layout for sure...

by the way the price difference between PG stuffs and GEnesis/DLS are almost the same back here. PG distributors a re definitely makin a fat margin for sure.
eg . Genesis Dual Mono goes for around RM3000 ( USD8++) while even the rsd250.2 has a tag of RM2300 ( USD6++ ).
The rsd1200.1 that i have now goes for like Rm4500 ( USD1250 ) from dealers. !!!

That the reason a lot of guys migrating form PG to DLS/Genesis kinnda gear especially when PG is becoming like an unknown brand with nearlly zerom marketing.

the pg ms2125 and 2500 are dual mono designs, but not 100% seperated because of an IC that connects the sides.

ouch, there is something linking both sides then

schematics ....schematics anyone pls ?

As far as i know PG will not release them

Heres a tidbit from my crib notes. The only common tie point I found in the main amp stage was the clip indicator circuitry and thats diode logic coupled to a Opto-isolator back to a IC that drives the two red LEDs that indicate clip for right or left channel.

Diode logic allows for signal to combine one way going out to another circuit, but the diodes usually referred to as steering diodes, block any attempt for signal feedback. Just like when you use two diodes to connect something together in a simple car alarm, either circuit can drive it forward, but there is no back flow interaction. < Typically speaking>

In the front end the IC's used are right and left channels in the same package, and share a common +&-15 volt source power supply for all three of these IC's. So its safe to say that RCA shield ground would be common at this place, but here again I will have to look see.

Both channels have independent control ICs driving there separate sets of Mos Fets. Of course the 12 volt and ground are all common here but they don't have a resistor connection to the secondary like most amps do. Of course there is a ground or float switch for the RCAs so when it is in use like on my setup The RCAs are not grounded to the 12 volt ground circuit thus eliminating ground loops and there noise issues.

I have not looked for common grounding , but I will next week when I re-cap my 2125 and do a little bit of power supply tinkering that have had planned now for a long while. Some of you are aware of my strange ideas and such < please humor me I am old    >

If your running the thing in mono who cares?

Never forgot you my friend, just now getting time and parts that I needed for my little projects, Been busy just ask anyone

4 new 50 volt caps from PG

repairs on the bench Sunday:

Xenon 200.4
PPI A1200
Mac MC-440
pack and deliver 2 MMATS 1400.1's
Jed's Ti 500.4 noise issue in crossover

and My MS-2125 gets new caps and new snubber resistors in one side, then I up the power a tad bit closer to a 2250 old school version. Then a trick here or there and dummy load testing on my HP analyzer, with a 90 amp power supply only one channel at a time. :D
