So ive got a new vehicle, it would seem i'm stuck with the factory stereo as it were, but i can upgrade the amplifier and speakers using speaker level worst case.
Speakers factory i believe are 6" (under seat) 4" and tweeter doors, not to sure about rear deck speakers 4 or 5 inch?
I have a reference Boston Acoustic 6" set, but unfortunately do not have a 4"(they never made a 4) so Im trying to figure out what may match in to my Bostons, any thoughts or recommendations for a nice 4" driver?
Amplifier is Elite .5 , and sub/s Boston SPG-555 if i get that far.
if anyone has upgraded the stereo to anything aftermarket i would be intrigued as well!
cheers

I have always been impressed with bostons sound and price myself. As for a match that is tough. maybe a nice hertz or focal?
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

Which factory system do you have? I think the mobridge might work.
There is also a way to reprogram the car so the factory head unit outputs basic stereo full range.

i Have the M-ASK system, 6.5 inch screen,
I hadnt heard of mobridge but does look like they have some perfect adapters for what I may need, appreciate the info.
yer focal comes up a lot huh, not familiar with the sound myself, but surely cant go wrong

boston acustic is another brand I have always been impressed with and a little more budget friendly.

Boston made a 3" in the pro 6.53, maybe you can find that one and adapt it.
Sweet car btw, post up pics of your progress in the install section.
Another brand to look at for speakers is audiofrog. The baskets even remind me of Boston. The brand was started by Andy Wehmeyer from JBL and Gary Biggs. Those are what I'm going for next.

Remember to check how deep the speaker can be, I have a E39 and upgraded to speakers from Bavsound. I couldn`t have to deep speakers so remember to measure the depth of the speaker hole before bying anything.
