Doubtful... But they're(the original ones) still around, being used and sold/traded!

I'd have to agree it's doubtful. But I use one in my setup and have a spare in the stash. They aren't to hard to come by especially without the remote. And there are members here that can make a remote for you if you're looking for one.

we have tried to mention it to pg now and I thought at one point we had them on the hook but its been years since they listened to anything we suggested.
