1.8 total volume is fine.
and 4 gauge will perfect for the 600.1

hey should I go for the dual VC or just single
like wire her up as 2 ohm or 4 ohm....im already quite aware how wiked these subs are i've had one before
but im not sure on the out put on the amps...like i ordered the 600.1 im just not sure which sub to go with...thanks

if you ordered the rsd 600.1, you will want the RSD12D so you can wire it for 2ohms and make use of the full potential of the amp.
(if you snagged a xenon 600.1, it makes full power at 4 ohms, so you will want to go with the RSD12)

well, which is the better amp to go with..,.i had a xenon 400.1 and i was quite happy and I know the xenon 600's are severly underrated...though i figured the RSD would be a better amp...though no experience
also for sealed does my parameters mater if 2 are the same
like i was gonna go 14x14x21.5 with 3/4 mdf

despite what errin claims, i think the xenon 600.1 is superior to the rsd 600.1
but both are VERY capable amps though.
if you haven't made any purchases, i personally would go with the xenon 600.1 and the rsd12
but if you have already bought a sub or amp, purchase the one that would make use of its full power.
the rsd12 and rsd12d use the same box

i've got my rsd 12" DVC in a 1.3cuft powered off a rsd1200.1.
the bass is so deep and controlled .... really cool..

does it matter if two parameters are same...like i know a perfect square would cause cancellation what about a 14x14x21.5 box...
errin is still kickin around eh? I remember both you and him from and older phoenix forum....back when the RSD was just realeased...errin convinced me in a hurry to buy the RSD and I did and I loved it....secound favorite sub to date....first was my 1999 orion HCCA

Yep, Errin is still here as VW337.
I haven't heard the RSD12 actually playing ever but if it's anything like the 10...

ryan, the 12 gives you more of that "shake your car apart feeling" while being about the same overall volume as the 10
errin is kickin as hard as ever. he actually works with me now. PG went on a little layoff spree...

so i made sure my company snached him up
the "square box" problem is sort of a "in theory" problem rather then a "in practice" problem.
the length of a bass wave can not really develop in a box as small as the ones we use in cars, so i wouldnt worry too much about it.
as long as it is strong and sealed well, you will be golden
if you are really worried about it, you can combat it by screwing/glueing a brace Inside the box and an odd angle to deflect the waves.

wow hes not at PG anymore.....im afraid they made a horrible mistake..though good for you eh??
I guess other then my spew of not so quick questions...hah
why do you perfer the xenon line over the RSD?

no worries, thats what we are here for!
i like the xenon because it has a built in variable subsonic filter, 24db crossovers instead of the rsd's 18db, they make full power at 4 ohms, the terminals to secure the wires are more functional, and they are fan cooled.
it was designed to be a higher level amp, where as the rsd were designed to compete at a lower price point. the rsd is still an over built amp, they just skimped on some of the above mentioned features to keep it in the price group they wanted

So Brian, how's my rsd1200.1? did ya blow it up yet? and when are you gonna swing by and show me?

by Bfowler
its just hanging out with my x10d2 in my trunk. sounds nice. seems to have a little more headroom then the x600.1, but not a very noticable overall difference.
i will swing by any time you want, do you happen to have a single 12" box around 1cf?
i want to throw it at my ti12d, but havnt been able to get around to making a box for it. i think the rsd1200 is getting bored with a 4ohm load
