Crossover Placement

Would it be a bad idea to allocate the crossovers back by my amp in my hatch for my front RSd components? I was running them active but I do not think I want to continue that because I am not happy with the sound, am paranoid I will blow my tweets, and also want to free up 2 channels of my 500.4 so I can use them for my sub when I get it.

Cool, for some reason I had it in my mind that it had to be as close as poss to the comps but then again I had my Ti xover way in the bk for the front comps.

i think that is just a rule of thumb to kepp newbs from haveing on legth much longer then the other. and it is probibly quicker/cheaper for pro installers because it uses less wire

Actually if you think about it, the shorter you keep the main feed the less loss there would be since the output is two runs instead of a single......
but it really is a moot point.

Thanks guys. I did er up w the crossovers in the back, nothing extravagent, just sitting there, but I can't wait to throw the sub on and hear bass again. It has been a while since I enjoyed any bass.
