Just wondering, since the amp has a regulated power supply, and puts out the same wattage at 1-4 ohms, will I gain anything if I rewire my subs to 1ohm. A friend of mine said something about "box rise" that can make subs wired to 4ohms(like mine are currently) go above 4ohms, and if you wire them to 1ohm, the "box rise" won't go above 1ohm

Anyone ever heard of "box rise"? he said it had to do with the box, and frequencies played and that it causes the impedance to rise.

It has nothing to do with the box...

A speaker's impedance changes depending on the frequency it is playing. Near it's resonant frequency, the impedance curve will go way up, and then back down. Any good amp will handle this with no problem.

Regardless, I would definitely keep your subs at 4 ohms instead of 1. You'll get the same power, but less current draw.
