my dilema, i have recently bought a pair of idmax 12's which i'm running off my ms2250, i was quite happy untill i bought a bnib cyclone which i just had to have
my goal is ultimate low down sq but with a bit of oomph when required!
upto now the max's havn't really impressed me that much on the really low stuff but tend to be great for spl orientated material, do i try the cyclone or persevere with the max's?
ps, the cyclone will not be for sale before i get bombarded with pm's

anyone else have any input on what i should do? was thinking of maybe a full boot rebuild and try and squeeze another ms2250 in there instead of 2 ms275's that are powering midbass...
decisions decisions

actually no.
leave the boot alone, its really clean and putting another ms2250 in there
is really not needed.
if anything it looks like you could just squeeze that cyclone in there and
then you would have a complete pg boot.

almost complete pg, i have the KEF active x-over but i love this unit even though i have ax204a and ax406a, might swap them just for the pg thing!!
there is room for the cyclone with a little bit of swapping around...
only reason i wanted to swap the ms275's is my midbass performance was better with an ms2125 before i swapped things round and added the ms2250. think it's because i'm using a pair of (non matching ms275's?) for midbass, they would have to be perfectly matched to better an ms2125/ms2250.

cyclone needs a woofer to complement in case you didn't know. it will move the air at low freq,s but impact wise, 2 10" woofers sealed or your max's. eclosure for cyclone was 2.5-3 cubic foot.
had a jeep with a cyclone and 2 xmax's,but cyclone alone isn't impressive
hope that helps, I installed about 20 of them back in the day...
oh and i broke about 10 of them....

think i may leave well alone! i'll just build a 3cf enclosure and have a play! the cyclone is never gonna do what the max's can do in terms of upper bass and output.
