Amp suggestions for 2-10" RSD's
Amp suggestions for 2-10" RSD's
I just purchased 2-10" PG RSD dual voice coil subs? I have been reading some of the reviews and looks like they are a good sub. Any recommendations on an amp? I was thinking the RSD 1200.1? Any other opinions? I have attached a pic of my box. Thanks for the help![/img]

that is a sweet box! our memeber Mr Tibbs owns an FJ and will probibly poo his self when he sees that box.
since you have a pair of DVC's you will want an amp that puts out its rated power at 1 or 4 ohms. (the RSD makes full power at 2
)
i would suggest a Xenon 600.1
it is actually making >800 watts @ 4ohms.
i actually ran that same setup in my car and was very very pleased.

Yeah, I like the box too. They are not cheap...Bfowler wrote:that is a sweet box! our memeber Mr Tibbs owns an FJ and will probibly poo his self when he sees that box.

So, the Xenon 600.1 is that much underrated? It will definitely be easier on my wallet than the RSD 1200.1
Thanks again for the help. I purchased the 600.1 and hope to get it installed sometime next week. Does anyone know where I can get the PG grills for the RSD 10"?Bfowler wrote:my 600.1's birth sheet was rated at 844 actually.
the rsd's can take all the power you can throw at them, so feel free to go as big as you want. but the 600.1 was plenty for them imo. and i do love my bass
Thanks!!!

Yep, I have seen that box and a few others for the FJ. It does look great, but I just can't justify spending that kind of money on a box when I can make my own!! Speaking of that I'm hoping that in the next few weeks I will have my own box to show off.Bfowler wrote:that is a sweet box! our memeber Mr Tibbs owns an FJ and will probibly poo his self when he sees that box.

But, not to get off track, that set up will be great!! The x600.1 is a power house and I'm sure it will be great on those subs!! I have one right now and it's great. Good luck with the install man, please post up some more pics when it's done. I'm dying to see the finished result!

It took a lot for me to break down and finally buy that box. I wanted a factory look and did not want to compromise cargo space and that was about my only option. I did get the guy to give me a little break....however, I am pretty sure I got a used box in return because it already has holes drilled where the cut outs are located. So much for my discount.Yep, I have seen that box and a few others for the FJ. It does look great, but I just can't justify spending that kind of money on a box when I can make my own!! Well, I guess that's good and bad all rolled up into one. Sorry to hear that you got ripped like that, at least you have something to show for it. I will be going with a single sub setup, and making my own box. I kinda figured for the price for that box I could build at least 2 of my own!jeffj19 wrote:It took a lot for me to break down and finally buy that box. Found out the box was not used...if anyone cares. The guy selling them loaded with JL W3v3...I wanted the RSD 10" after seeing the Car Audio ranking of the RSD 12."
Anyway, I should have pics shortly. I have run into some "hiss" sound issues with the amp that is driving my components (Pioneer Premier TS-C720 PRS). I purchased a refurbed U.S. Accoustics USX2150 and my install guy was not impressed with the amp. I believe it might be an issue with power wires being too close to the RCA's or wires running close to the alternator...but I am a newbie and I am going to let him find that problem. I purchased X100.2 Special Edition Black Onyx new for $115. Any differences between that one and a standard Xenon?

nope, just the case. (which is sexy as hell btw)
what kind of rca's are you running? if they are twiested pair, they shouldnt be inducting nose from being too close to the power wire.
where are your other accessorise grounded?
i would make sure the amps are grounded to the same point, and then try grounding the Head unit to the same point

I believe everything is grounded at the same point...I will have to check with the installer once I get that Black Xenon. He believes that USX2150 is bad.
