okay
i need 12s they need to be pg.
now i can get rsd 12s but i wanna know how the zenons sounded
compared to the rsd or the ti (non elite)
keep in mind im not looking for too much on spl but in overall
transients and low bass output.
i have heard the following, ti 12, xmax 12 , rsd 12.
very interested in the zenon 12.
hey errin or anyone else can pipe in.

You may have subs in your car........but my doors sound better!
i have heard a few of them and they are a nice sounding 12's...but i couldnt get past it looking like a borg speaker all it was missing was a glow stick...lol...i feel what pg was doing trying to update for the market....but...lets just say the design didnt work for me ya know
now the rsd looks to be the exact same speaker without the flux capacitor and space basket....cant go wrong with that and they are cheap...if i used 12's i would snatch them up in a second.
hey man there is a sweet xmax 15 on ebay right now dirt cheap...best speakers pg every made if ya ask me....did i mention its dirt cheap

The Xenon's are brutal down low, but weak sauce anything above 55-65hz almost a straight drop off. You will not be able to blend the sub to a normal midbass.
RSd's are nearly as brutal in the low notes however they are far more efficient and will do more with the power you give them, plus they will blend much better to most mids.

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

The Xenons actual increase in output from <50, where most drivers start to drop.
Picture a typical response chart where it starts to sag say 70'ish and has a nice smooth roll off.......
Now take that same graph and flip it 180 and that is a Xenon.
FYI I have designed a ported enclosure for the X10 that will provide a +22db gain at 25hz and still be within reason for listening purposes as long as you have a very strong fill from >40hz

i have done quite a bit of personal trial and error with the rsd vs xenon.
some of my conclusions are...
xenon 12's are almost worthless. the they are slow, and have almost the same output and range as the x10.
the x10 is ultra smooth, but lacks overall output. on day to day listening it sounds amazing half the time, the other 1/2 it is missing/leaving out notes, and doesn't hit where you think it should.
the rsds are nice, efficient and pretty great, but don't really have the excursion to be a smooth as i would like to be my "ultimate" woofer.
the rsd 12 is damn close to perfection
