Need some opinions on what setup to go with. The following components I have already.

mps2240
mps2500
ms2125
ax406-A

cd1e horns
idq 6.5 midbass drivers
(soon to get idq 10's)

Those amps do not have a x-over built in, keep in mind. So would you get a pg eq215 or eq 215ix? Each amp will power one set of components so the main question is do I still need the ax-406A x-over if I use a pg eq215ix?

Anymore questions just ask :) I don't feel like investing into the eq232 at this point either, but that is what I used to run with the ax406a.

Thanks

First off what are you gonna power your horns with as they are 8 ohm, and the MPS amps are 2 ohm preferred. Also are your mids 2 ohm?

Do you have the Passive XO for the horns and mids or do you plan to go active?

If you are going active I highly suggest the 232 over the 215 version of EQ.

You will need the 406a if you go active, but if you have the passive XO then you can just use the 215x as your crossover and drop the need for the 406a but you will need 3 sections of XO which the 215x will not provide.

probably do something like the following:

mps2240-mids
mps2500-horns
ms2125-subs

I could probably run them a little different also so nothing is set in stone yet. I just need at least a 15 band eq to to fine tune the horns.

Yeah, i do plan on going active on it. I don't have the passive x-overs for the horns. I would rather have the 232, but seeing as those are harder to find these days I'd figure the 215 would suffice for now.

I guess i'll be using the ax406a still in my current setup. Thanks :)

i ran cd1e's off an mps2240 many years ago and the system had plenty of volume  that's the way i'd go and run the mps2500 on the mids.

The mps2500 would give the mids some more juice that's for sure. I could try that scenerio first since right now i've just got them powered by my HU and tuning via the eq that's built into the HU.

Cheers.
