Installing tld/pld22

Post by Fatii »

hello!
i have e nice zpa 0.5 and a pld22.. i cant understand one thing, they say that u need 8volt to the zpa 0.5, but how do u set the gain on the amp? it says input sensitiv 1-8!? shuld i set the linedriver to max (its a PG) and then set the input sensitivity? right now i´m having the pld on halv "gain" and the zpa input sensitiv at half to.. and it sounds great but i wondering what will be correct? hope u understand my really bad english :*)

btw the zpa 0.5 rocks, best amp ever! my rockford 12" power sub will soon be a dead woofer.. ;)

Welcome, Most folks just run the ZPA at lowest sensitivity or 8 volt in to the RCA for full output. this is to stop noise pickup. If you run your amp at 8 volt input setting then yes you can turn up your line driver. i would use your ears as a guide, when its starts to sound bad back off the setting.

Good luck, I have 3 ZPA0.5's C :)

thx

okey, so if a run the pld at max and then the zpa at lower gain it will work fine?, but i can also run the pld at minimum output and the zpa at higer gain?.. whitout damage the amp? now i´m going half way on both and i´m enormously satisfied.. wich is the best way?

it´s a littel hard to tune the sound becuse u have to lift the plate, and u dont want to drop the tool inte the amp :*(..

just a littel confused ;)

omg 3! install in one car? guess u have a huge cap and 4 battery ;)

you would want to use a multimeter and turn your Headunit up to about 80% of the total volume (or if your speakers are running of the deck, just turn them to roughly the loudest you would listen to them) then turn the PLD up to 8 volts. at theis point your shouldnt need the sensitivity on the amp turned up at all.
