Okay time for new amps, xenons for so fucking ugly, and since my headunit and proc. are going to be changed might as well, it's onyl second nature to me by now :).

So I want to try something new. I am currently disgusted with RODIN, so I want to give another brand a try so let put it to vote.

You're almost about to graduate correct? Live with the Xenon's, after you graduate get you a nice car you're going to keep and put the MS'es in there.

Just my opinion, take it for what it's worth.

I say McIntosh because I've personally been fascinated with that brand in a sidelines kind of way. I've never considered buying any though as that kind of quality comes at a steep price.

They seem like a real audiophile company, something that I've enjoyed elsewhere with the 90s PG philosophy.

That would be a wicked fun challenge. It's too bad we can't compare systems in person, otherwise we should start a "low budget" SQ contest... a few hundred max, and you must prove with receipts ebay sales.

I would also recommend you take a closer look at Audison. I've seen and heard very good things recently. Unfortunately they haven't updated their website recently.

I don't really hate them, I just think Mac could have built a more original amp when the built these. I felt short changed by the quick build thinking that went into it. At least PG has its own design, not some off the shelf slam dunk prepackaged solution like STK modules.

I got a Mac 6 channel amp unclaimed at the shop, the MC-4000 I think. It has blown power supplies. Its the 4 times 100 and 2 times 300 Surf board with the big Glass Mac face with meters so you look stupidly 60's ish in styling, and have Sanyo STK modules driving your outputs just like Sanyo Fisher home amps from the 70's

My old Mac MC-431 sounded ok, but my Xenon is twice the amp Any day of the week.

Yes I don't really care for Macs anymore but I still own two of them. weather I want them or not it seems...C :)

PS Brandon, don't let little distortion numbers sway your judgment, Let you ears tell you what to do, after all you have to listen to it long after you pay for it...C  Good luck my friend

You have a mc4000M....C

hmm interested in selling it if you do have it. I know you think it's just but for my mind set wouldnt mind giving it a run with you touching it up a little of course

Yes I have a 4000 a 431 and a 440 if that client doesn't call me soon. I quote these things and people just never return phone calls. The 4000 has been abandoned for three years now. You can imagine what my shop looks like with amps that have not been picked up for over three years +
I just don't have the heart to take anyones tunes equipment even if they jerk me around.. :? :? :?

I would doubt that an MC4000M would go unclaimed, but who knows!? Maybe an MC440M? Is the Mac in question about 3 feet wide Cecil?
