I got in my car today to move it and when the radio came on there was a weird noise. The music was playing, but over the music you could hear a buzzing noise. Sounded kinda like a 50 or 60 hz test tone.
I came back to it later and figured out it was coming from the right side component speaker. I found this out by unhooking the speakers from the amp one at a time, when I unhooked that one the noise stopped.
The weird part is when I hooked it back up to the amp the noise was no longer there, and everything seems to be working fine now. The music plays clearly just like it always did.
Any ideas why this happened and went away?
Oh yeah they are RSD 6.5 components powered by a zx600.2 if it matters.
Yes, check the wiring for that channel from HU to driver including all processors. Power the system at low volume while testing and listen for the noise to return as you physically inspect the wiring. The other channels are clean?

The only stupid question is the one not asked .......
I'll check all the wiring on that channel. Yes, all other chennels are clean.
and like I say, it hasn't come back, I have driven the car a little today, and no noise, just when I started it first thing until I loosened and tightened that speaker connection
I checked all the connections at the amp, headunit, and crossover. No problems that I could see, and I can't get the thing to make noise again. I suppose maybe I had a bad connection at the amp that I fixed by unhooking and hooking it back up.
