ZX350 Caps

Post by dgoodhue »

I recently bought a ZX350 on ebay. (I haven't even received it yet.) I was going to replace the caps like I have done on my M series amps. Are the caps on these the same/interchangable as the M series amps? I still have a bunch of M series caps, that I was going to use in my Outlaw. I could steal some of those if they fit, and order some more caps for my Outlaw later.

The caps on the ZX are newer and smaller size wise so I don't believe the amps will fit. I have some nice Nicichon's if you need some that do fit properly....C :)

Let me look see. I have NIB ZX-350 < looking for a home here guys> make offers.

I see 4 each 2200uf at 16 volts but you can use higher voltage like 25 volts if need be. they are small, say 30mm tall by 18 mm wide. The size is the most important info as they must fit the area allotted to you on the board. Panasonic FC series is OK, but as I said any 105 C high grade cap will work here.
And if you can find a larger value in Micro-farads then go for it. A higher voltage will mean it will handle higher ripple current, so Higher micro-farads and slightly higher voltage is a big OK.

just get the height and width the same and the temp the same, the rest can be bigger number if you like....C

PS Digi-key has them and so do others. I use this like to find parts from time to time:

Good luck, C :)

PS make sure you have enough heat from you soldering tool so the solderer will melt all the way through the thru-hole and not tear out the copper via's that PG built in there. or you will have to make connections with wire to get both sides of the board to reconnect. < I see this error all the time and it does cause issues later on. :)

I wish I had known before I bought this one, I think we could have worked out a deal. I just received my amp this afternoon and it looks good, (I am alway nervous about received an amps). It has just a couple minor chips on the edge. Not too bad for $134 with shipping, less than I expect to spend.

BTW To anyone else, I am going to be selling my M25 that is in very good condition (and new caps) and my MX2 which is in brand new condition (was NIB a few months ago).
