Phoenix QX Series?

Post by Marcotah »

Are these amps real good?
Im with a Doubt.Does exist any difference (in inside, constructions and materilas) between QX4.150 and QX300.4?
In case of yes, wich would be better to power a comp kit?
thanks!

Welcome to the Phorum.

I don't know alot about these amps, but I'm sure someone on here will. It may be Monday before anyone responds though, traffic is a little slow here one the weekends.

QX series used to be PG's low end line. However, they still were not bad amps for the low price point. Just comparatively, they had the QX, XS, and ZX lines out, so QX was the bottom. As for the internals, they were not overly built. You can see a pic of the 4150 here:

As for what would be better to run components, Im not too sure you have your model number right. I have never heard of a QX 300.4, and the way that they named these amps iot does not seem to make any sense. I will tell you this though, those amps were never huge on the headroom, so 50w per channel may not be enough depending on the components. It (4150) would run them fine in bridged mode though (150 watt X 2)

they were fine amps. the design was carried over to the octane-r amps and ryval amps. the don't have much headroom, or special features, but they make their rated power for an excellent price.

what components are you running?

likely they will work more then fine. 50 watts and a high pass crossover is more then adequate for most people. especially when moving up from a stock system

Actually its not for me, Its for my Brother and it will push a Bravox CS60K
Kevlar Comps (Very used in Brazil) and a 160Wrms JBL Sub.I´m asking because i need a amp that can make what it promise at least, Its not necessary to be the best of the best amps.So Thanks!
