GOLD:

I am sure I could sell you ubber internet cables, so you statements would sound great.
At the moment they are tired, lacking in any plausibility outside of psychoacoustics.
For a nominal fee, my internet cables would help you sound more lively, authoritative and intelligent.
my ex-girlfriend said "its car audio or me"
i've had tougher choices at a soda machine...

I really want to do a Psyc experiment, seeing what the human factor really is...I want to test wires, amps, and head units.Bfowler wrote:really? i thought it was funny, what pissed you off? (maybe i didnt read far enough)

Can one send others to war if hes not willing to go himself?
Honestly, that would be a FANTASTIC Psyc experiment. Make it "Monster Cable versus Steel Wool" or something retarded, and show that people can't tell a god damn thing. An experiment in Psychoacoustics.... for school! I like it.bdubs767 wrote:I really want to do a Psyc experiment, seeing what the human factor really is...I want to test wires, amps, and head units.
I would use my Mac computer as the source into the Dared Tube Amp to the passive xover for my scan 6600 and scan 18w towers. Just change the wires between the amp and the speakers.stipud wrote:Honestly, that would be a FANTASTIC Psyc experiment. I would then use five wires.
Standard PG 16 gauge
KNU Twisted 16 gauge
Steel wool in the 16 gauge rane
moster silly expensive speaker wire 16 gauge
Ubber stupid expensive wire (try to find some one to lend it)
First go through all the wires Blind, then go through all of them not blind. Could compare the results of the wires vs each other blind, compare results or wires not blind, and compare the results of the blind results to non blind results.
While I was at I would try to do amps too...

Don't forget to do a control group, where they listen to the same wires each time and have to tell you the difference between the exact same wires. You can also do another control where you tell them the wires are different, when they are the same (this will control the group where you tell them the wires are different and they actually ARE). Compare the ratio of differing opinions to those of the groups listening to the other wires.
Also, for an accurate test I wouldn't consider a Tube amp to be a good idea. They color the sound way too much to make an accuracy judgement. Use your MS1000 instead.
Heck, maybe you can get this million dollar guy to sponsor your study.
Don't forget to tell people the price of the wires too when you perform the studies. If you just say "phoenix gold" or "knuconceptz", most people don't give a shit... but if you say "$50 phoenix gold", "$30 knuconceptz" "$3500 pear audio"... that gives a bit more placebo effect.

lol ms1000ta, the audiosource amp two should be fine too. It would be a lot easier to use a home based amp for this. The tube would be fine though as long as it's kept the same, but your right a solid state class a/b would be better.stipud wrote:Don't forget to do a control group, where they listen to the same wires each time and have to tell you the difference between the exact same wires. That's yet another variable, brand or price suggestion. Some people will want certain brands to sound better than others, so that may influence, where as some people might want a certain price range to sound better, etc.stipud wrote:Don't forget to tell people the price of the wires too when you perform the studies. I will suggest the you use a 99.99% sterling Silver OFC for one of your control cables (see Kimber Cable) I can vouch that you will hear a difference when you go from copper to silver.
Silver is in fact the best quasi-affordable material to use for audio transfer however most speakers are tuned with copper in mind so silver comes across as too bright.

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.
