I bought these to put in my 08 Altima. Any tips on installing these? I plan on mounting them in the stock location on some MDF brackets, either 3/4 or 1 inch thick. I have RAAMAT and Ensolite to deaden the doors. I had also planned on sealing all large holes in the door panel. Anyone who has had experience with these and can give me tips it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you've got it figured out. All I can say is the deader the better.

sounds like you are on the right track. sealing all the holes in the door is a great idea. i have a couple pics in the install section (iirc "brian's new kicks)
the only other thing i can think of is depending on the way the door panel goes back over them a small ring to direct the sound through the grill, and not back into the door panel

Yeah I was thinking that. The stock door panel has that hard plastic. I was thinking of cutting in and replacing the area with a grill mesh but I decided I dont want to cut a big whole in the stock door panel, I might screw something up. I'll look into sealing off the area around the speaker to the inside of the door panel. Maybe I'll just glue 2 pieces of MDF together and have the woofer mounted to the inner MDF ring and have the other ring go up to the door panel. I'll just have to somehow measure the distance between the inner door panel and metal door panel while the panel is attached... hmm...

I think Im just going to wrap some ensolite around the molding on the inside of the door panel, but have it stick out enough so that it will meet the door panel when attached, that way all the sound with go through the speaker grill and not back inside the door.
Will post pics next week when I get to doing it

Yeah, I read a lot about that. The stock location is in the upper dash near the base of the A pillars. I definetely don't want to put them there, the stock sound sucks. I don't want to cut a big hole in my door panel either, so I'm using the surface mount housing's that came with the tweeters and using some industrial velcro to attach them to the door panel close to the woofer. I'll have to drill a tiny hole for the wires but that's easily patched later on.
