i return and i bring the ms 1000 shroud....

Post by theburb »

well the last time i was here i was talking about maybe starting to make some fan shrouds for the ms amps if people wanted some because i had found a template from my old one....but after a fewdays folks started asking about ms1000's, so instead of doing a duplicate of the 2250 i decided to make this real quick.... so i made it but i never got to post it because some other shit offline came up and i wasnt able to get free really until now....so here we are guys this was just a steel shell that i knocked out that i think would be a good size for a 1000....the final length would have to be talked about because i cant see a stretched out 2250 shell ever fitting in a car....have a happy thanksgiving and let me know what yall think......gobble...gobble

btw...this is just a bare painted husk if it was a final version it would have the fasteners, etched plexi and 3-6 fans for a push pull cooling system.

I maybe interested in one depending on the price, and buy the look of it that may just barely fit in my car. Its huge. Plus want are the dimensions of the shroud just want to double check if it would actually fit in my car.

Thanks,
Haz

for the first batches of 2250's and 1000's will be somewhere in the 175-275 range....i think that is a fair price, since thats what i would pay for one.

hey tristan, haz and wakeup.....how much actual mounting space do yall have in your trunks....the one i just made was cut down to 46x12...i did that because i think i can do a better cooling system then the first 2250 shells with what is out there today....my other thought was that if i made 51" i might as well just hang it on the wall as it would be useless in the real world car install at that point....i guess if yall can get back to me we can try and get final length locked down...thanks

Are those shrouds just prototypes?

I am not very impressed with the edges. They are not straight. One of them looks like it was cut with tin snips. If you did just slap this together, then that makes sense, but seriously, you need to make some changes to your build process. Maybe if someone had the sheet metal laser cut, you could then bend it into shape?

*from the other post*
again this was just something i welded up at home in about a day with some steel and a cut wheel....if it was anything serious like a final design instead of a piece of junk...i would have got all my steel either sheared to exact lengths or jetted out....i felt no need to do all that just for a crazy idea, it was not worth the time or the money.

when this gets serious and i get the final size numbers together....i will throw a flawless shell up first just show a complete product.

im really not interested in these as they are now its cool and all....but since i really dont care about an empty rectangle shape minus an amp...because if you've seen one u have seen them all....but i cant wait to see one finished out with a custom etched backlit plexi logo....now that will be a something to truly enjoy..

Sorry but the MS1000 itself barely fits in my car never mind 46" shround. I think I will have to make a special fibre glass shroud with fans.

thanks for the input man....tell me what can you do with right about 40 inches...this goes to you and wake and whoever else might be reading this....i think i can cut it down to that if i get creative with the fans and run them at an funny angles on the bottom kind of like this....please let me know....thanks

I'm fine, thanks for asking. Even though I may not be posting but I always am browsing the forum.

Since the last post (few months ago) I got a something high-end recently for the system
