Welcome to the Phorum.

If you got that amp for $145, you made a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge bargain (assuming it works). Heck it's not even a bad deal for a broken one... hehe.

Guys I looked it over and hooked it up in the parking lot. Lights, sound, all works and pushed my 12's fine.

I got her home and heard something in the case moving....found it was just a part of the case screw.

it's grey my old one was white. Is grey newer?

So I have a RF800.2 and this. how close do these put out?

Thanks.!>

Welcome4 to the forum,
The MS-2125 will out play and out last your Rockford amp IMO.

The caps in yours are original, I suggest you replace both the 12 volt and rail caps < The big blue ones>, and perhaps the 15 volt supply caps. Its a simple but time consuming task that will make your amp sound and play close to new, again IMO.

I have found that 12 to 15 year old caps are only pulling 1/2 to 2/3rds their original value after all those years of service. So to bring her back replace the caps, and she will last another 12 to 15 tears. < Something not easily said about other car amps.

Welcome aboard and search around and you will find Doc's tutorial about cap replacement. Its about as good a place to start for your new toys revival....C

Oh Grey was the early amps white followed, Would you like to sell it ??? I have a matching grey one thats lonely for a twin...

Welcome to the phorum mang. Good to have you here.

Even if the amp works, I would recommend having the caps replaced, as that's a BIG issue for older amps

Yeah he told me he had quite a bit of interest in the amp. He had folks from texas wanting him to ship it.

This amp is going to go into my 4runner with a punch 4040 I plan on doing 4 12's and 2 sets of comps up front guess it will be an old school set up. I have a 200dsm and rf 800.2, but wonder if the ms2125 will work the 12's ok.

or

maybe I will ask for opinions on my set up, havent put much thought into this just know i am doing 4 subs...(dream of mine in high school..years ago)

im the one from texas....lol

just from my personal experience i would stick with the punch 200 on the 12's....those things are beast and i actually think they out perform the 2125's...they always did when i swapped them out....i use to run those night and day without having to worry about anything....i could load them with 4-15's on it and they never even gave me any trouble....now it would get hot enough to grille a steak but what could you expect from that beast...

im not trying to get his amp off him if i was i would have bought it from my friend and fuck old dude on the deal....i just liked the 200dsm and the ix over the ms2125....when they were both in the market fosgate clearly out performed phoenix with the bbq style amps....thats a no brainer....now the 2250 is a whole diff league then the 200....but the 2125 can get walked all over by the 200....those things came out of the box swinging.

Yeah I understand , but I really do want his 2125  Sorry I was NOT making fun of you or the DSM. I own two 250M's from the black and grind series, at 4 ohms mono they make a combined power of 1050 watts .. but I need a twin for my lonely 2125. And my reference to the replacement NEW boards is a legit one there really is a guy selling New replacement boards with birth sheets and matching serials for $50.00 + 12 shipping. So repair is really cheap on the later 800.2 and 700S series amps which were some of RF's larger amps including all the DSM's.
I must have at least a dozen cases needing new boards in my storage, all 800.2 grind series, the shame was they were all blown so badly that it not feasible to repair without complete replacement.

No mean feeling intended I really would like his 2125
:) :) :) :)

lol....you got a sweet deal but really when it comes down to the install and easy of use and durability that punch will do the 2125 in...that was the amp that played a major factor in killing phoenix gold as a company....

man 1moreamp those two punch 250m's are the bomb....
give me a 4080 linked to a 200ix and i was in heaven....if i hadnt had my 2250 i would have been all over those....i wish fosgate would have brought those back recently instead of that collectors edition *turd 75*

I had started with a 4040 and 200 setup but then let my friend build his jeep with them. I am not 100% on going with the phoenix in this truck I might grab back the RF stuff...and I found a factory sealed 800.2 in my closet. so I have 2x 800.2's a 200dsm and 4040

what to do.
