inverted subs, how to cut hole??
inverted subs, how to cut hole??
got my boxes built to 1.8cf per rsd12 and im now ready to cut the opening for the subs...what should i use for the template of the circle?? i took off the gasket and layed that down on the box but the screw holes seem wayyy to close to the cut. doesnt seem to be enough "meat" for the screw to grab onto w/o splitting the wood...anyone know a good diameter for the circle so its not too close to the screw holes or wont rub on the surround?? thanks for the help

take a strip of wood drill a 1/8" hole in on end, measure the cutout for the sub to the 1/32" take half that diameter (the radius) mark that on the wood from the center of the previously drilled hole, now drill a hole big enough for a pencil in the the end of your measurement, you now have a compass to mark out your cut line. place the 1/8" drill through the small point, poke that into the center of your cutout area, draw your circle. Test fit your dimension on a piece of cardboard first if there is any question of your measurements, this will give you an idea of how things line up before you waste the wood.
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.
