does anybody remember what the power handling on the old M&M godfather 15's was.

i just had a pair of pretty minty ones givin to me. thinkin about puttin them into the burb on the route and wanting to make sure the m-44 side would power them.

i will be bridging the front channels to 1 sub and the rear channel to the other sub.

i think it would make a pretty cool retro system

i wanna say it was like 250 each sub....man its been sooooooooooooo long since i even heard that name....retro subs ftw

its been soooooo long since i've seen a set of these....takes me way back....to my high school days man those were the shiz back in the day!!!!!!!
they are in really good shape too!!! the foam surround is in great shape as well

Yeap I remember these.

with a G&S designs amp, both things i could not afford at the time...not sure how strong those will be, how old you think they are?

guy i got them from bought them new in the late 80's LOL
the foam looks pretty discolored but its not brittle.

the foam should be fine....but it you are worried you could always just give it a quick coat of silicone...thats what i do when i get a sub that has questionable foam on it....never failed me yet

I had a 10" version of the same series. It was happy with 300rms.


IIRC they never really rated the black & blue line for "power handling" as they offered a lifetime warranty on them. But guessing from experience I would say no more than 600-700 for the pair adjusted appropriately. One of my previous co-workers had an 18" version with two Kenwood 500w mono-blocks of the era on it and it was insane (in an RX7) he would warranty the sub about every 3-5 weeks.


enclosure-- I would suggest in the 2.5cuft sealed per sub range bigger is better but that should get you started.

OK, I've dug out an old CA&E byers guide from '95........

Power Handling is listed as 220w RMS for the 15".

98.5DB SENSITIVITY.

22-2k response range

Retail in '95 was....... $176 a piece
