2 kits component on 1 amplifier...

Post by chaplin »

What is the best way of installing 2 kits of "MB Quart Q216" on 1 amplifier(2 channels)?

Installed in 4 ohms there is problem but in parallel in 2 ohms it is possible with X-Over of origin...

Is it a bad solution to install 2 kits of component in the front end?

If you run the crossovers in parallel, that is... you don't run two sets of speakers off of one crossover, but instead both crossovers and sets of speakers... then it should work.

However, unless you are mounting them exactly next to each other, you will be adding a whole bunch of cancellation and phasing issues, which you probably don't need.

At best you will gain 3 decibels from your front stage by doubling the cone area. You will gain another 3 decibels from doubling the power, if your amp is the type that puts out that double wattage at lower impedance. So assuming everything is set up perfectly, you will gain at most 6 decibels in your front stage. Is it worth it to you? Do you ever have your speakers playing full volume, and wish that you had more?

It is simply a question that I have 2 kits and that I looked for the best way of using them. Furthermore, they have simply 90w rms then I hope to increase one the power forward. I have the possibility of installing a MS1000 (2x250(340) on Q216  ). 2 Channels forward and 1 briged behind on the sub...

No idea?

To use the other pair as center? Is it possible to use the inside of the center of the console to install the kit?

1 to steer towards the passenger other towards the driver?

umm, with some kind of digital processing that wouldn't work to well. most music is just recorded for stereo signal.

personally i would either skip the second set altogether, or install it in the rear powered from the head unit
