stereo ohm load

Post by thedeal7235 »

ive uploaded, a poor attempt at drawing, a schematic of sorts, what ohm load is my 600.2 ti seeing? i have two sets of ti elite 6.25s at 4ohm, i tied the inputs together, so is my 600.2 seeing 300 by 2, or still just 150 by 2? and if its 150 by 2, can i just bridge the outputs at the amp, or would that drop it too low on the ohm in stereo? thanks for any and all help!!!

I think it would be seeing a 2 ohm load, or 300x2. If I understand your picture correctly anyway.

basically, i have one set of outputs( meaning left posi, left negi, right posi, right negi, coming out of the amp into the same input for first ti xo; then tied into the second ti xo inputs, hope that helps, its like i understand what im doing but not how to say it or draw it-thanks christian

So you've wired the two crossovers in parallel. Two 4 ohm crossovers in parallel would present a 2 ohm load at the amp. That would give you 300 watts per channel on that amp.

Somebody let me know if I'm seeing this wrong....

thanx for reply :D -still doesnt seem like enough POWER!!! I have a second 600 ti, what do you think if iuse two yadapters to split the single rca input , bridge each amp down to one side, wouldnt they be technically playing in stereo at 600by1 ;meaning one 600ti amp for left components and another 600ti for right components= 600 by1 per side???

Then you would be running bridged at 2 ohms. I personally wouldn't want to run it at lower than 4 ohm bridged, just because they get hungry for power at lower impedences. My electrical system likes 4 ohm loads better.

I don't have any experience with the elite components, but I would think that you would be overpowering them....

Somebody who has more experience with these components might have a better suggestion....

Elites can take some power to run, it sort of depends on the SPL level you expect to achieve.
Your setup is correct, there are some losses to be had when using passive crossovers, but I don't think that's the issue. Again what SPL are you getting and what do you expect?

I am driving a older Suburban and I use a xenon 200.4 and find it very loud, perhaps you should look at a larger amplifier The good Lord knows you have the speakers to take the extra power. As I said earlier it sort of depends on the SPL expectation you have in your plans. I started with a ZX-475Ti in my Burb and moved on up till I was bleeding from the ears with the Xenon, so I can understand you situation.
I stopped at the point of making the three surrounding cars at a light roll up their windows, as I figured I was getting obnoxious to say the least

Anyway I have another ZX 600.2 Ti laying around if you need to double your power, but that will only give you 3 DB's more SPL at this point, and you might need a much larger amp to get the SPL your looking for. Plus your running into the 12 volt power strain range of most stock autos when you move up in amp power. I myself can pull my twin battery's and 210 amp alternator down to 12 volts real easy, and I only have a 1300 watt system.

Again your wiring is correct in the twin wiring scheme you posted...C :)

i have 2 stinger batteries in the rear and also running a ti1200.1 to 3 diamond d6 dual 4ohm subs, can u thinkof any phoenix amp that can give me more power, unless a yadapter to two 600's or 2 400tis for more power-the 1200.1 , i cant seem to find a 1000.2 , which could be 500 by2, i can think of no other ideaas!!!? And, to the other reply, the elite 6.5 are 300 w rms, and yes they can take another 150-200rms; as long as u never pump distortion into them they will be fine-not trying to sound rude, thanx to all trying to help and replying-Christian :D

I might know of a local fella that has a 1200, and maybe a 1000 just sitting I will e-mail him and see if he can help you out on your amp need. I know they are like new as they currently reside in his BMW.

And your not being rude by explaining what you have and working with us, so no worries here :) At least you have the juice, I see people asking the questions you ask and they got a stock Honda battery and alternator trying to do what you want LOL LOL LOL

I have 2 Ti-400 and a ti-600 looking for a home plus what B has so somewhere we can get you some power if thats what you want...PM me if your looking for any of these amps...C

The Ti1000.2 will output 250x2 into four ohms. This would be nice because the amp has the same footprint as your Ti1200.1. Or you could run a Ti 500.4 bridged stereo for 250x2 as well.

but the 500.4 does not give me anymore power????!! I dont think than the 600ti i have right now; the 500.4 would be four channel, more control

Sorry for the confusion. I was comparing four ohm power figures and that's obviously not what you need.

I imagine a Ti1000.2 is going to be the best solution for adding more power to your setup. It would output 500x2 into two ohm stereo and be the same footprint as the Ti1200.1 you're already using. But, as Cecil mentioned, even that might not give you the added volume you're looking for. It may be that you need to re-evaluate your listening preferences and determine if the elites will ever fit the requirements you'll ask of a speaker. These are designed to be a great sounding speaker that can also handle some power and get fairly loud, but it sounds like you want something that's primary purpose is to get painfully loud.

His JOB at HP has him side lined with 60 hour work weeks. he shared his disappointment with not having time to finish shit as he said to me a week ago.
The last installer that work on his car stopped mid way and B has been swamped in the HP quagmire ever since. But he loves his job, I get several texts a week
I told him he just needed a vacation in Vegas
