WELL I had a PG Xenon 400.1 rated @425 watt at 4ohms

unfortunately.....a wire came lose, touched the amp...and burned it out..
so NOW I need an amp that can put out 400 wattsX1@4ohms
I've found plenty that will do 400 watts at 2ohms, but not at 4ohms

any help is greatly appreciated....I would prefer to get another PG amp if possible, but am open to others.

^^ What he said....

A Ti400.2 will make 400 at 4 ohms bridged, so will a zx350

As far as getting it fixed, the 400.1 has already been trashed..

what brands are those other amps you mentioned?

both the amps mentioned are pg

also you could consider a signat log2 it delivers about 1 x 700watt's @ 4ohm

nice "little" beast :)

the XS2500 and tantrum 500.2 are both pretty stout amps too.

pics of the 400.1? im sure there are a few people here who arent ready to give up on it!

ok, as far as the 400.1 goes, when I say its trashed....I mean I threw it in the trash several months ago....so thats out.
as for the other amps mentioned....I cant use any that puts out more than 400-450watts
would blow my subs...
How about some links to places that sell those amps? I did a goodle, and I love PG amps....but I cant find anywhere that sells those particular ones

OnlineCarStereo.com has PG amps just not the onese mentioned above....any other sites out there ya'll might know

OH I guess the amp can also be 400-450watts rmsX1 @1 ohm too, since my subs can be wired either to 4ohm or 1ohm.
just happens they are currently wired 4ohm.

but they arent rated but 175watts each....though they actually had no problems when I used the 400.1....that woulda been 212.5 watts each, if my math was correct.
ok enough rambling, how about some links ppl?

What woofers are you running?

I'd say a higher end sub and amp are in order.....

so when an amp says "500 watts"
it doesnt mean as soon as you turn it on you are putting 500 watts to your sub.

as you increase the volume, the power increases. so dont be afraid to put a xs2500, tantrum 500.2, ms2125 etc.

you are actually less likely to blow a sub with a slightly larger amp, because you will have to increase the volume higher before you are sending clipped signal to the subs.

heres a couple amps that might be a good fit:

Running 2 Resonant Engineering RE8 subs, in a custom built box.....
I hit 135.5db at the last comp I went to....when the 400.1 was still working
not the loudest I know but plenty for me....plus I don't have the whole trunk filled with subs....which is the reason I went with 8's anyway

nothing against anyone here, but I don't buy stuff from indivuals online, only from companies

so I found the amp I was talking about at techronics

http://www.techronics.com/index.cfm?fus ... &aff=45847

am i right about it doing 400watts @4ohms?

Bfowler.....err, cant do ebay

also, though I know you can adjust the gain on a larger amp, and get lower wattage....I have no use for anything over 450 watts, as I am not going to be changing subs. I'm happy with my 2 little 8's

that amp will do just fine.

the new ryval line from PG should be plenty easy to find is is a slightly more stoute amp then the octane.

http://cgi.ebay.com/PHOENIX-GOLD-RYVAL- ... dZViewItem

read your ebay post after i found this.

indo audio is considered an "ebay store"

not sure if that chages anything in your eyes...

nice amp there, but i have heard bad things about IndoAudio....I will try and see if I can find one somewhere else

found one at SonicElectronix for 149.95+shipping for some reason i cant post the link

so, I will narrow it down to either the R8.0.1 or the Ryval V1502, which I see puts out 500rms bridged, guess I can keep the gain set and not turn up the volume and the Ryval should be fine, plus it has the lower price...
SO Ryval??

by Bfowler
i personally think the ryval is a better amp. it is the octane replacment line so it has some better engineering behind it.

ooh, one think that might play into your decision is it doesnt have an LPL port....

LPL port? explain pls

looked it up, thank you google...so its basically an attenuation/bass knob...and since I can control the bass and sub from the HU, thats not really a factor

dude...you were running a PG amp and weren't using the Best thing ever!!!!

it's a remote bass attenuation knob. uses a rj11 phone cord to connect to a pg amp to a knob you mount up front.

it isn't a "boost control " it is more like a remote "less sensitive" sensitivity control.

I seriously don't know how anyone lives without one.

it sounds like it wouldn't be very useful, as many decks have that capability in the menu somewhere...but you will find your self using it OFTEN
