Subwoofer ti12d elite or rsdc124

Hello to all.

This is my first question on this exellent phorum.
I am in caraudio since the 90's. At those times I got a setup with zeropoint component speakers (zcs5) for mid and high + lanzar 8 inch as woofer in the front doors; earthquake eq12xlt x2 for subbass in trunk. An MS275(2 homs) was driving the front speakers and an bridged Audioqueest slx4100(2x200w rms) for subs. It was sounding very good.
Now after a break time and several other cars; caraudio is really missing. I got a new setup in my mind with MBQuart QSD210 + Focal 6w1 in front and 1 sub. I got 2 MS2125 and a Ti1200.1. 1 MS2125 for front doors in 2 ohms and 1 MS2125 for the rsdc124 or the ti1200.1 for the ti12d elite; it depends on which one I choose. :?:
My question is : which one of these 2 subs are the best sounding for SQL ??
I listen to a lot of kind of music. Rock, electronic, classic, jazz, voice.....
Thanks for your help

Didier

PS : Sorry for my poor english but I am french speaking

Between the RSDc12 and Ti12D Elite, I would have to go with the RSDc... unless you plan on pushing 2000 watts or so. The Elite is a great sounding woofer, but I found it to be sloppy and quieter on smaller amps. On the other hand, with a Tantrum 1200.1 to each coil, it's one of the best SQL setups I've heard!

I personally run an RSDc12 in my car and I LOVE it. And I'm only giving it 250 watts in a small box too!

Hello
Thanks for your reply. I will follow your advice and buy the RSDC12. But what do you think about the ti 1200.1 to power it. If I take the rsdc122 i can wire it in 4 ohms so the amp can deliver 600w rms. And I have the possibility to further add an another one(if needed) and wire in 2 ohms so the amp will deliver 1200w rms. Or buy the rsdc124 and wire it in 2 ohms in this case 1200w for 1 sub is it too much ?(with no further possibility)
What do you think :?:
Which size and type of box do you have with it ?

Thanks

i have a rsdc 10 on a jl 1000/1 and level matched the gains with a test tone and multimeter; the sub is taking it no problem. i do have it in a small sealed box, .42cuft. you may want to go with the dual 2, that way you have more flexibility later.

Run it at 2 ohms.

Running at 2 ohms (4 x 2VC) will provide excellent dynamic abilities... meaning it's really going to assert itself when the track calls for it. In reality you're looking at 3 dB of increase by going from 600W to 1200W.

Unless you're pretty serious about running two woofers, I'd go with a 124 wired into 2 ohms. If you want options, as the other said, go with the 122 and wire it in to 4 ohms for now.

why run it at 2ohms when the ti1200.1 will make 1200 at 4ohms?

i say go with the 12d2 also

What?

Tantrum 1200.1 makes full power at 4 ohms...

Titanium 1200.1 makes full power at 2 ohms!!!

Go with one 12D4 (1200 watts) or two 12D2 (600 watts each)!!! Both will sound great.

Ti1000.2: 4 ohms bridged
Ti1200.1: 2 ohms mono

I think the Ti1200.1's are actually internally bridged, modified versions of the Ti1000.2, meant for a 2 ohm mono load. I wonder if there's a way to get it to work in 1 ohm stereo

ive been told by c (1moreamp) NOT to run the ti1200.1 in a 1ohm load!!!!!!

^the currant draw at 1ohm would have to be off the charts...i wouldn't think it would be a good idea either without some serious customization

Thanks for all replies.

I'll go for 1 sub the RSDC124 amplified in 2ohms with the ti 1200.1 :metal:
But just one more question :
What's the best sounding box for SQL? Ported or closed? Which size?

:?:
