rsd1200.1 or xenon600.1

i'm gonna hookin up 2 rsd12's @ 2ohms. safe side had them takin 350rms, in a sealed box they could prolly handle closer to 450 i would think. so should i go with the rsd1200.1 and dial it back a bit or the xenon 600.1...on the surface, the rsd seams like a no-brainer, but i've heard such awesome stuff about the xenon...would it hit just as hard as rsd or at least enuff to give these subs all they can take? thnx

Those subs will take a hell of alot more than the x600.1 will give them. I was running one of them off of a ti1000.2, and I know other people are running singles off of 1200.1 amps so over powering them isn't a huge concern.

That being said I don't know if you would hear a huge difference in output between those two amps. From what I understand the x600.1 is underrated, so the difference between the two in terms of output power is probably less than you think.

i ran a single rsd12 on a rsd1200.1 at 2ohms and it rocked. the rsd12 is quite an efficient sub that even my previous no-name 300W mono could drive it well . But with more power it gets even better .... :)

IIRC guys here often quote the rsd600.1 as capable of around 800w whereas the rsd1200.1 was benched to put out close to 1400w by a phorumer in SB.

at 2ohms, go for the rsd. the only advantage of the xenon, is fan cooling and a slightly smaller footprint.

What about internals?

I prefer top mount controls. :)

internally they are pretty similar. they both have triple darlington output phase. the xenon's crossovers are considered better, but the rsd's are still very good.

the top mount controls are definitely easier to tweak...sort of an opinion point. definitely something to consider.
